My Acer LCD wide screen pc monitor (model H233H) has 1 hdmi input, 1 dvi w/ hdcp input, and 1 vga input. I doesn't have an audio output but it does have built in speakers.

I want to buy a playstation 2 to play some games that came out a few years ago and also because it's affordable. I can't afford a ps3 right now.

Answer
You have a good chance of going to a local computer store (the kind that build computers) and talk with one of them and see if they have in stock or can design you a cable that connects from the PS2 to the HDMI or DVI or VGA input.

How to capture Xbox 360 gameplay from my pc monitor?

pakiballer

I want to capture my xbox 360 game play footage to make a video. I play on a Pc monitor using VGA cables and i have a laptop to connect the capture card to. I need help on figuring out what to buy in order to capture my game play. Thanks.
Keep in mind that im using a VGA for my video input. Also links to the products would be nice. Thanks

Answer
a capture card will suffice. But if you don't want to spend extra money you can videotape it with a camcorder...

I'm sure you mean like if there's a program that you can download so the computer can "videotape" itself

I'm sure there's probably something like that out there but i dunno what it's called

I wanted to find out how I could run two full screen PC games at the same time, possibly using two sets of mice and keyboard.

The point of this is that I have 2 monitors and wanted to be able to do multiple things without having to minimize and switch between applications.

Answer
Dual core, Two video cards and a good operating system that allows you to assign processes to individual cores (XP SP2, Vista, Windows 7 if you are partial to Windows).

I can't speak for Linux, since I have never tried to use linux for a gaming PC.

You have to assign each game to a separate core and separate videocard, or they will slow each other down when one is active over the other.

It is easier just to get a second system and run a two port KVM to the second monitor so that you can run the second game on the second monitor. This will protect you from being taken out of both games when one game causes a BSOD or third party driver crash.

NOW, another solution is to run the less system demand intensive game on a Virtual Machine (Virtual PC , VMWare, etc) and move the Virtual Machine window onto the second monitor and Maximize it. Viola!

I have dual monitors set up but when I drag steam onto my TV screen and start up fallout there it still makes it full-screen on my laptop monitor. How do i fix it to where all games default to full-screen on my TV monitor?

There should be an option from your graphics card panel about monitor configuration or something similar.

I am a pc gamer and I am always looking for ways to improve my gameplay and performance and graphcs. What graphics card should I get that simply gives me best? What else can I buy to improve my gameplay? Like the best sound card, memory, or something else. Thanks a lot.

Answer
New graphics cards are due out in June from both nVidia and ATI.
The ATI RV770 will be most likely:
1Ghz Core
3.4Ghz DDR5
512bit memory interface
480 shader processors

nVidias GTX280 will most likely be:
602Mhz Core
2200Mhz DDR3
512bit memory interface
240 shader processors

Get 2 or 3 of these and a CrossfireX/Tri-SLI motherboard any quad-core, even the cheapest will do fine, for a few years.
I would recommend using a 64bit OS and at least 4GB RAM running around 1066Mhz DDR2, 5-5-5-12 latency.
Any of the X-Fi sound cards are good, the cheapest one should do for gaming, if you don't intend to record/edit sound then you don't need a $300 sound card.

And a good 2000dpi+ mouse logitech or razor are some of the best.

Also if you play on a small monitor like 19" or similar then you could always upgrade to a 24" 1920x1200 or 30" 2560x1600 for a better experience

What is the perfect sized monitor for playing pc games?

Steven

I originally wanted something like 2500x1400 but I think 27 inches might be too big I don't know. I don't want to find out that it's too big and I don't like it because I'm going to be sitting up close to this thing all day everyday. I know I'd like it to be big enough to where the game looks nice, and I'm not at a disadvantage playing competitively but not so big that it hurts my eyes. How far away do you guys recommend sitting from a 27-30 inch monitor?

Q. Does anyone know what a good gaming monitor would be? Preferably one that runs over 60hz, has over a 20 inch screen, and has a good contrast ratio? Thanks.

Answer
Check out that link, There aren't any "gaming monitors", the most you can do is look for the best quality monitor and a size and resolution your PC can handle. I assume you'll be using this for a PC...even then, you can just hook up a PC to your HDTV if it's supported. I'd shoot for that HP 2509m or LG W2486L.

Good luck.

What should I upgrade to make my computer better for gaming?

Okay, so I have an HP Elite 570T Desktop computer with dual 23" HD monitors. I'm looking to up my frames and enhance my graphics on Planetside 2 and other games. What should I invest in primarily, given my current specs?

Specifications:
Model: HPE-570T
Harddisk Drive: 1.5TB 7200RPM (I'm assuming if I purchased a solid state drive I'd be in better luck)
Processor: Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz
Memory: 9GB DDR3
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce GT 440 3GB
Primary Monitor: HP 2310 Series Wide LED LCD Monitor 1080p
Secondary Monitor: Samsung PX2370 LED LCD Monitor 1080p

Once again I'm looking for enhanced graphics and better fps.
Thanks!

Answer
Get a faster Graphics card. The GT 440 is pretty slow compared to other cards out there.

However the problem is that your computer's power supply is only 300W. This limits what you can upgrade to. You should upgrade to a ~600W powersupply, and then get yourself a GTX 660 Ti, if space is an issue, Zotac makes a short form factor version.

What processor and graphics card should I get?

I'm planning on building a gaming computer that is capable of running games like Black Ops 2 and Starcraft 2 on ultra graphics without killing the computer and while staying in a manageable price range.
Please help me out! Any and all suggestions will be considered. Thanks!

P.S any advise on other computer parts is appreciated as well. ^.^

Answer
I think that this website will be easier to understand and follow than the other recommended site: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-pc-overclocking-pc-building,3273.html

TomsHardware does gaming build-offs several times a year and the latest one is August 2012... a new one should be coming out shortly. You will see that they have 3 basic priced builds : $500, $1000, $2000 but none of them include the cost of a operating system.

I use this site to determine what I am going to use when I build a gaming system for my clients.

Sorry brother. Its not possible to build a gaming laptop. The first thing needed to build a gaming laptop/Computer is the graphics card. You need a pretty good graphics for playing cool games on the laptop. At least you need 512mb of graphics itself for playing the most recent games in the pc.And its not possible to change a laptops graphics card. But there are some like DELL XPS & Alienware laptops to change but it costs much. You can change almost everything like RAM,Hard disk and processor(in some). But not most often possible to change the graphics card. You have to stick to the one you've got.You can build a gaming Computer more easily and with less expense than the laptop, and you can change every specifications of it.

For making a Gaming Computer go to the below link:

Is there such thing as a memory card for your laptop?

Liz

I have an HP 2010 laptop. It's got pretty good memory. I play the sims 3 a ton and have 6 sims games on my computer, after i got my last one my computer totally slowed down when I would play it, is there such thing as like a memory card, or something I can get so that my computer can hold all these games?

Answer
your talking about an external hard drive (to hold data, music movies files games ect.)

but the computer is slow not necessarily because you have too many games, but because the ram, processor or graphics card is not great

(when it comes to games, laptops are not the greatest, unless you spend a good amount of money on one. or buy one that is many for games) a lot of laptops don't come with great graphics cards which will slow down a game

if its really an issue take your laptop to fuureshop or best buy(or right down your specs or model of the laptop) and explain to them you issue and what you options are

you might want to deal with it for another year, save and buy a laptop thats good for gaming,

Is there any rational reason for a casual user to choose a Mac over a PC?

best gaming computer components 2013
on Choose the Best Power Supply Unit for your Gaming PC in 2013
best gaming computer components 2013 image

Jesse Pink

I donât like computers very much. In fact, they rather bore me. But even I can put together a basic PC that can do what I want it to â surf the web and do a bit of gaming.

I built my current semi-powerful computer about a year ago and spent $700. If I had to guess, if I bought a similarly powered PC retail I may have spent twice that or more. A similarly powered Mac may cost $2,000 or more. I donât even know.

From what I understand, itâs very difficult, maybe impossible, unless you really know your stuff, to effectively build your own Mac â and even if you can, the component parts are more expensive.

Even if the Mac OS is more stable, so what? If Windows goes kaput, formatting everything and starting over is a pain, may take a few hours, but nearly anyone can do it.

Thus, is there a good reason for a casual user to use a Mac?

Answer
First of all, building a mac is quite simple. Essentially you are building a pc, and as the other answerer has stated there are programs which make it rather easy to install the mac OS. Now in my personal opinion, there is literally one reason to own a mac, and that is some of the exclusive software. For example, music production on a mac is generally superior thanks to programs such as logic pro, etc. Other than that, a PC just gives you so many more options. If one is a basic computer user with very limited knowledge, a mac generally makes things extremely easy for you, but in my opinion, its 2013...anyone could/should be able to function on a computer. PC takes the cake by far, not to mention that all of apples products are EXTREMELY overpriced as well. Hope I helped.

I'm looking to upgrade my desktop to improve gaming performance. What should i upgrade?

Frank

Hello everybody. I mainly play Arma 2 OA (Day z and Wasteland) the problem I'm experiencing are as such. When I'm pretty much anywhere I'm lucky to be getting 10 frames per second and if I'm in a major city If i get 5 Frames it's a very good day for me! What I would like to know is what component of my computer should i upgrade for a significant increase in my frame rates and general gaming performance? A gentleman I was speaking with told me that i should upgrade my motherboard, graphics card and try to get 16gb of ddr3 ram. Being new to upgrading computers I don't have a clue whether or not that is sound advice. So I was wondering if you wonderful people would be able to help me out? I'm able to supply my current computer specs if you ask me for them. Thank you very much in advance! (Just remembered something before I hit continue I'd like to play Arma 3 *for wasteland* and obviously the day z standalone.) Thanks again.
cpu - AMD A8-3820.
motherboard - Medion MS-7748
Ram - 4096MB ddr3
Graphics card- Amd Radeon HD 6550d 512mb

Any other specs you'd like?

Answer
EDIT:
You added your info.

A spec that would be helpful is your monitor resolution because that plays a huge factor in your gaming performance because if your monitor is 1280x1024 it's going to require a lot less than gaming in 1920x1080.

The A8 APU is actually kind of bad because of it's low clock speed, but we can work with that. Gaming depends more on the video card anyways. Also, I wouldn't upgrade your whole system because your computer is pretty new and it'd be kind of a waste. 4GB is enough for gaming.

I still stick with my video card recommendations. The APU+discreet AMD GPUs are just not really that great imo so don't get a cheap AMD video card to match your APU and expect great results. Again, I recommend GeForce cards to take advantage of PhysX. It's pretty cool if you play games that actually use it.

The other guy recommended the 7770 and 7850 which are $100 and $180 respectively. Not bad choices, the 7770 is between the GTX 650 and 650 Ti. The 7850 is between the 560 Ti and the 660 (performance-wise).

If you email me your monitor resolution, I'll be better able to suggest the right card for you, but to be safe, I'd get a GTX 560 Ti which would basically handle almost every game on high setting. It's better just to go a bit higher than you actually need so that you won't have to upgrade later when a newer more demanding game comes out down the road. justain@gmail

Original answer:

For a gaming computer, these are the minimum requirements:

Dual core 3 GHz or higher (preferably an AMD quad core or Intel i3 or i5 cpu)
4GB DDR3 1600 ram
Good video card (depends on what games you want to play)
Power supply that can handle your video card

So Arma 3 is the most demanding game that you listed. Arma 3 uses PhysX so you should get a NVidia card to take advantage of the PhysX eye-candy. It says get a GTX 260 or better. They don't sell those anymore. I would recommend either the GTX 650, GTX 650 Ti, GTX 560, or GTX 560 Ti (I sorted these in lowest to highest to make it easier). If you can afford it, the GTX 660 and 660 Ti are better options, and you probably won't have to upgrade your video card for at least 4 years.

If you don't have a dual core with 3GHz, then you'll have to upgrade your CPU and Motherboard, and probably your ram as well. Like I stated above, you're going to want an AMD quad core, Intel i3 (2nd generation or higher), or Intel i5 (2nd generation or higher) CPU. You can tell which generation an intel cpu is by the 4 digit number following the i3, i5, or i7. The first number of that 4 digit # is the generation number. So an Intel i5-3570k is 3rd gen, i3-2120 is 2nd gen, i3-770 is 1st gen. Anything else is a dinosaur. Choosing your motherboard is just making sure that it'll work with your CPU. Choose one from Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and Asrock and you'll be good. Make sure it has SATA3, USB3.

CPU part 2: The best CPU for gaming is the Intel i5-3570k. It's $220 at newegg. I think the prices on Intel CPUs might drop soon because Intel's new CPUs (Haswell) is coming out June 2, 2013. With that said, you can get an AMD quad core CPU for around $70-130, and the motherboards are a bit cheaper than Intel mobos, so that might be a better option. For gaming, the Intel i3s (dual core with hyperthreading) are actually very similar and slightly better than the AMD quad cores, and i3 CPUs are cheaper than AMD quad cores so that's another option. Just make sure you get the 2nd gen cpus (Sandy Bridge) or 3rd gen (Ivy Bridge).

Ram, all you need is 4GB of 1600MHz DDR3 ram, but 8GB is usually like $10-15 more so you might as well just get 8GB (2x4GB modules so that you can run them in dual-channel).

Power supply: Get a Corsair or Antec 430w or 500w PSU. The 430w PSUs will be good enough for the video cards I listed, but it's always good to have a little headroom on your PSU. Also, get a Corsair or Antec. Thermaltake is okay. They are the best PSUs for the price. A lot of PSUs lie about how much wattage it can produce, so a 500w PSU can actually be a 250w PSU. There are hundreds of different PSUs so I can't give advice on all of those, so just stick with Antec/Corsair and you'll be good.

If you decide to get an i3+motherboard+ram+GTX 650+PSU, that should run you around $300 total.
If you decide to get an i5+motherboard+ram+GTX 660 Ti+PSU, that should run you around $600.

the i5+660Ti option will more than double the gaming performance and you'll be able to play basically every game on the market on max settings.

The i3+650 option will be more than enough for your needs now, and it will be an extremely good day for you.

If you have any further questions, email me at justain@gmail

pc gaming monitor vs hdtv
on Gaming HD Lag Fix On A Vizio | How To Make & Do Everything!
pc gaming monitor vs hdtv image

III_Stutte

I know this may seem like a question with an obvious answer, but bare with me for a sec :P .

I have been gaming on a big'ol SD T.V. for awhile now, and only dreamed of all the magical wonders of what an HDTV would be like. One day, I found out that I could hook up my Xbox 360 to a PC monitor via HDMI to DVI. Since I am planning on building a PC soon anyways, I decided I'd just get the monitor first, so I could take advantage of the HD and use it with my Xbox for the first time. The day the monitor arrived, I was extremely happy. I hooked everything up and saw right away the clarity in the dashboard menus and how the text was much sharper and easier to read. Excited, I scrolled the menus left and right, only to notice something I hadn't before on my old T.V. . The menus seemed to blend together in an odd type of motion blur. "Surely this must be my imagination," I thought. Curious, I proceeded to search on Google to see if it truly was just my imagination, and sure enough, it wasn't. It seems to be a common problem to have motion blur in an LCD T.V. . For even more proof, I noticed that the blur had been negated on my older T.V. . I am now worried that maybe I made a mistake buying this monitor.

So, the question here is really just to help decide something that I'm having trouble deciding myself.

What would you do in this situation? Would you go back to the low resolution but bigger 4:3 SD T.V. or would you use the smaller 16:9 1080p LCD desktop monitor at the cost of having motion blur?
Also, this is the LCD monitor I have purchased.

@Answer 1

The only display devices I have are this monitor and my SD T.V. which is just about 4 feet to my right.

Also, 1080p won't make much of a difference on the current generation consoles but it does have an effect on PC gaming.

I can't go back to playing xbox on SD but I've never had a motion blur issue. Do you have any other monitors around? 720p and 1080p aren't particularly distinguishable.

HDTV vs LCD which should I buy in my situation....?

Johnny

Ok so I am looking for a monitor to use for playing a game on my computer. However, I would also like to have an hdtv monitor to play my Xbox 360 on from time to time. So, I started looking and lcds seem to be alot cheaper. I heard there is a Xbox 360 VGA HD/AV cable for about $40US. I am assuming from the comments this allows for HD with an LCD. Anyone know if I bought one of these and an LCD monitor if I would recieve the same clarity or definition as an HDTV?

Answer
Standard PC monitors have been capable of displaying HD quality resolutions for years before HD was the rage for TV.

The same goes for LCD monitors.

The issue I have is that the VGA HD/AV cable you are talking about might not be of the highest quality and therefore may effect the image quality some, but not much.

You might want to simply look into a LCD television. Most of these are fully capable of doubling as a PC monitor.

What would be the best gaming pc for me?

Kevin Fry

I'm trying to find a gaming PC that could run a modern day game such as battlefield 3 or crysis 2 at high settings. My budget is somewhere in the $2500 range. Any suggestions? If it is a customizable PC, could you tell me the best specifications? Thanks!

Answer

Buy the parts on your own and build it on your own. It's like putting legos together. When you buy a prebuilt you're paying for labor, and usually they don't have ideal specs. Yeah it takes a bit more work, but with Youtube it's super easy to successfully build a computer blindly. Not to mention the fact that if you build it on your own it wont come with any bloatware.

This build I quickly made for ya will let you play games on max for a couple years, if not more. The only thing I didn't include was a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. I would get a 1080p monitor if I were you, keyboard and mouse don't matter much, but you could always look into those later.

I have $800-$1000 dollars to spend and i was wondering what kind of gaming computer i should buy? I don't know a lot about computers so i don't know what parts are good and if the prices are good. Please help

Answer
EDIT:
I'm in Tennessee also, and I built both Intel and AMD recently.
***************************************************************************

For your price range, your best option would be to build a gaming PC. get the parts from Newegg, they have the best prices.
Here are 2 options for you:

Building an Intel based gaming PC:

Intel Core i5-2500K ($220) or i7-2600K ($320) with a socket LGA1155, Z68 chipset, SATA III, USB3.0 motherboard ($125 and up)
If you got money to spend, you can get one of the 2 best, newer 3rd generation Intel Core six core processors, with an LGA2011 socket, Intel X79 chipset motherboard ($250 and up)
Intel Core i7-3960X ($1,050) or the Intel Core i7-3930K ($600), both of them six core processors, the world's best processors.
As all Intel stock CPU coolers suck, get an after market Coolermaster or Sunbeam twister with 120mm fan(s) CPU cooler and Arctic Silver thermal paste ($40 to $60)
RAM 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 or 1333 G.Skill Ripjaws X Series ($40 to $50 and you won't ever need more RAM)
Hard drive: 1TB or 2TB SATA III 7200rpm hard drive, I recommend Seagate Barracuda or Samsung Spinpoint.
For best overall performance, you could add an OCZ Agility 3 SATA III SSD - 90GB or bigger - for your OS install and keep the 1TB or 2TB for file storage (adds another $160 to $240)
At least a GeForce GTX460 or better graphics card ($150 and up)
Choose based on benchmark (2300 or better score) from here:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
A 600watts or bigger brand name power supply such as Enermax, Cooler Master, OCZ, Antech, Silverstone, etc.($50 to $100)
Any PC Case with power supply mounting on the bottom and plenty of space inside for proper air flow and cooling ($50 to $100).
A $20 DVD-RW drive, no need for Blu-Ray.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM ($100 on newegg)

Building an AMD based gaming PC:

Zambezi (Bulldozer) series Six Core AMD FX-6100 ($150) or Eight Core AMD FX-8120 ($200) or AMD FX-8150 ($270) processor
with an AM3+ 990FX SATA III (6Gb/s) USB 3.0 motherboard ($130 and up)
A Cooler Master or Sunbeam Twister AM3+ CPU cooler, as the stock AMD cooler might not be good enough especially if you want to do overclocking. ($30 and up)
The rest is the same as for Intel based above.

Good luck.

I am looking to get into PC gaming, but I do not know enough about monitors to purchase a monitor with confidence. how to change audio from monitor to speakers?

FutureBioC

ok here's my problem

i have a PS3 hooked to my computer. i play on it often but there's one issue i have
whenever i switch my video input to my PS3 the audio goes out through the monitor speakers which are horrible. but when i go back to my windows 7 PC and browse the internet i can use the speakers just fine! it makes it a bite in the butt for me to have to play games with low audio streaming through the monitor speaker
pleas help me!

Answer
Ok, the problem is that the PS3 audio goes straight to the Monitor. So the audio output is the little square thing in the back. This process will work.

http://www.amazon.com/Optical-Female-Digital-Toslink-Adapter/dp/B000I97H68

Buy this and plug it into the PS3 in the back then connect your speaker cable to it. Hope this helps.

I want a gaming monitor for my PS3 my TV is shitty.
Want it as fast as possible at least 2ms.

Answer
You don't need 2ms. 2ms would mean you need 500 frames per second to really utilize 2ms. 5ms is good.

I would get this one because it's so cheap right now and it's a good monitor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009421
Use PROMOCODE : VALPAK10 to save $10 which makes this $99.

This is a good one too:

How do I plug Xbox 360 X12 Turtle Beaches into an ASUS Gaming Monitor?

Casey Cour

I am wanting to purchase a gaming monitor solely for video games simply because I play so much that I feel I need to get with the times. Plus I saw one of my favorite games, Fifa, on a friends gaming monitor and the comparison was incredibly different from my TV. That being said I know the monitors do not have normal red white and yellow audio outputs. My headset cords have a tan/pink cord that I have yet to discover a use for which I heard is for mic input/output. Just to clarify I am in the dark here so I do not know as much as I should. I will be using an HD cable for the video/audio from xbox to monitor but I just want to figure out how to make the turtle beaches sound work. Any help would be greatly appreciated here's the monitor I am planning on purchasing at the moment.

I also want to record videos and put them on Youtube and eventually become a partner.. So what are the best parts for the computer and what is the best recording software?

Tom's hardware provides very good comparison guides for most components and even low, mid and high end build guides that you could take in total.

What's the best gaming computer for the money?

silas

I am looking for a good gaming computer but don't really have a thousand dollars to spend on it. I think that my max price would be from 300-500. Does anyone know any good ones? And I would like for it to be strong enough to play arma 2 and project reality. Thanks.

Answer
To be honest with your price range your options are limited. There is a budget build here: http://www.omfgnetwork.com/2012/omfg-network-amd-copper-build-2/ But it does not include the monitor, mouse, ect. But that all depends on if you want to build your own computer. Also Alien Ware tends to be more expensive than building it yourself, but you will not have to assemble it yourself.

Some computer experts say that the graphical quality of video games has reached a plateau?

best gaming computer ever 2013 image
Q. e.g., look how good the graphics are for a game like Crysis 2. These are rendered on hardware that was nearly outdated in 2005. You could imagine the potential of similar hardware in 2011. Or would it even make a difference?

What will make the next generation of gaming distinctive from the current?

In the past, the answer to this question was easy: GRAPHICS.

Answer
PC graphics can continue to march forward with ever more impressive hardware optimizations, higher resolutions, better physics, etc. However consoles are going to have a much tougher time of it. Sure with this generation we saw the jump to HD, or at least 720p@30fps. However the next batch of consoles should have no problem with 1080p@60fps which is the maximum any HDTV is capable of producing. Even 3D won't be a problem for these consoles - if they decide to support it.

Really the only direction left is better physics, and better textures. However these are going to seem more like minor bumps vs. the huge leaps we've been used to. It might also mean consoles will come out less frequently - no need to upgrade as frequently.

The 360, for instance, will turn 7 later this year and while Microsoft is working on a new console we probably won't see it on shelves until 2013 at the earliest - nearly 9 years after the 360 came out.

How can I get my son (18) checked for aspergers? Is he too old for any help?

Ally

We always knew he was different, he displays some but not all of the common symptons but we just put it down to him being different and an introvert. We are getting increasingly worried because apart from the virtual world of computer games he is turning into a hermit. He doesn't have any interests apart from music no one else has ever heard of and has no social skills. Any advice please?

Answer
Get your son to do the online test for asperger syndrome (see internet address below for Aspie-quiz.php)

If the test result says he probably has asperger syndrome, join the largest asperger syndrome community website Wrong Planet which has over 70,000 members (see internet address below for wrongplanet.net) It caters for people with aspergers syndrome, and for people who have an interest in aspergers syndrome, such relatives, friends, and carers of people with asperger syndrome, and professionals engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of people with asperger syndrome, so both of will be warmly welcomed as new members if you join.

If the test result says your son has aspergers syndrome then, from your description of some of his traits, I think he has some extreme ones, and might find better friendships and advice by visiting a website that caters for a somewhat more extreme traited group, and I would suggest the aspies for freedom website for this (see internet address below for aspiesforfreedom.com)

You'll find some informative articles in Wikipedia about aspergers syndrome, beginning with one on savant syndrome, then one on hans asperger, and finally one on history of asperger syndrome. I've listed their internet addresses in that order in the Wikipedia set below. A couple of points of interest - it was first called savant syndrome, but people with it were called idiot savants in 1887, though the word idiot didn't have as strong a meaning as it does nowadays. The condition was clarified in 1922, but given the name autistic psychopathy, but people with it got called autistic psychopaths, which was worse than being called idiot savant. I would have preferred if the condition had been given the name Sukhareva Syndrome rather than Asperger Syndrome, because I think Sukhareva contributed more to the science of it than Asperger did (I think Asperger only wrote his paper to save himself and his family from the Nazi Death Camps and couldn't care less for anyone else). And finally, the APA plan to drop the label Asperger Syndrome and its diagnosis from their 'Bible', the Diagnostic and Statistal Manual of Mental Disorders this coming May (2013) as it has been so controversial since being given that name officially (by UN WHO ICD in 1992 and by APA DSM in 1994)

I could use a new processor, but i also could really use a new graphics card. But I also don't have much money, so i was wondering if i just buy a graphics card with increased gb if it'll cover the bottleneck from the processor?

Answer
No.

Amount of VRAM is one of the *least* important specs on a graphics card, it's the MODEL that determines performance, not the memory. Having 3B rather than 2GB doesn't matter unless you're running multiple monitors or resolutions like 2560x1600 and up.

Your fps are determined by your model of card, and cards under $150 aren't powerful enough to use more than 1GB anyway (so it's just a scam paying extra for 2GB on budget cards)

http://www.hardware-revolution.com/mistakes-when-buying-video-card/

Your graphics card is more important than your processor... as long as the processor is "good enough" you're fine. Your in-game performance is approximately 70% dependent upon your graphics card.

Which of these graphic cards should I buy?

Mansour

My budget is around $200, which of these graphic cards should i buy?
GTX 570
Radeon 6850
Radeon 7850

you can give me another one if you think its better :)

Thanks!

Answer
The Radeon HD 6850 doesn't belong in this conversation. That's a $150 card, much slower than the others. The HD 6850 is weaker than the HD 6870, GTX 560 and GTX 560 Ti, all of which are still slower than the HD 7850 and GTX 570.

Overall, the GTX 570 is a slightly better performer and has better drivers. However, it only has 1.28GB of video RAM, making it less desirable if you're gaming at 1920x1080 or higher resolution.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7870-review-benchmark,3148-21.html

Today's highest-end games running on maximum detail at 1080p already require more VRAM than that. If your monitor resolution is 1680x1050 or lower, then the GTX 570 would be a better choice than the Radeon HD 7850. Also note that BF3 is a title that runs better with Nvidia cards anyway. In BF3 even the GeForce GTX 560 Ti matches the Radeon HD 7850. But overall if you're gaming at 1920x1080 or higher resolution, you'll want the 2GB Radeon HD 7850.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/03/05/amd-radeon-hd-7850-2gb/4

If you can spend $30 more, your best option is the brand-new GeForce GTX 660 (non-Ti). That has performance equal to a Radeon HD 7870.
