Can I plug a video game console into my pc and use the monitor as a screen?

Answer
Yes, but you won't be happy with the performance.

Using something like a video capture or tuner card will allow you to connect a game console (among other things) to your PC and have it display on your screen.

The problem with this is that this introduces a slight delay in the video signal. It's not much, maybe about a second or so. However, if you're playing a racing game, by the time you saw on the screen that you need to steer the car to the left, you will have already hit the wall according to the game console.

Instead, it's better if you connect the game console directly to your monitor. Some newer monitors have additional AV or HDMI inputs to support DVD players, game consoles, etc. If yours has these inputs, you're all set. The Xbox 360 can use a VGA cable to connect to a monitor. You'll have to buy this from the 360 accessory area in the store.

Otherwise, you'll need a VGA converter, which allows you to connect a game console, dvd player, etc. to your monitor using a VGA cable. There are different models out there, depending on what sort of features you want - like HD (if you monitor can support that). Of course those are more expensive. I used a converter from RTV called the Veg-Lite, which was pretty cheap, but only supported up to s-video (480i) It worked well enough, and allowed you to share a monitor and speakers with your computer, so it was easy to use too.

PC VS CONSOLE GAMING ONLINE?

Zero Chanc

Im looking into buying a gaming computer but i want to know who has the biggest online community first. I have a PS3 At the moment.

The things i like about Pc is that you can do mods and it looks cool.
P.S im not looking into buying a Xbox 360. I know they have the largest Community of the Consoles but i already have a Ps3 and see no reason to get a Xbox but Pc is a differnt story.

Answer
Well gaming online with a pc is much more Diverse than consoles, it also allows you to mod and such.

Pro of gaming pc: Mods, Games usually cost less, it can dual function as your normal computer, You can create macros, key bindings, and is much easier to debug and fix. And if you somehow lose then game than all you have to make sure is that computer is backed up and you can get it back.

Cons: It can be expensive, If you have the computer knowledge I recmend making your own, It also can be more frusterating when something doesn't work.

Other thoughts: Pc gaming is different, there are many ways to increase the performance of your machine. Get more ram (better ram), get a good overclock er (Supply's power to select part of the machine for gaming Example: supply more power to the fan one your video card so it doesn't over heat, or to your ram to perform better. And if you have a newer tv you can actually use your tv as your monitor (Which is what I do)
