I need to connect it to my monitor through the HDMI input and to my sound system by the red and white audio cables. Is there an adapter like that somewhere?
(also the sound system is 10ft away from the monitor)

Thanks!
ALSO, my xbox does not have an HDMI output

Answer
Ok, you need a vga converter box follow the following links...

http://www.amazon.com/VGA-Monitor-Input-Convertor-Selector/dp/B000JCLLUW/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1231379773&sr=8-1

or

and you need a Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable you can get a official xbox one from the following link for lowest price (around 8$)

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-COMPONENT-HD-AV-VGA-CABLE-FOR-MICROSOFT-XBOX-360_W0QQitemZ280296815621QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item280296815621&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A15%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1308

once you have both thoes items, you can connect you xbox to your monitor. But, if you want sound you have to get a Male to Male rca cable for left and right audio. (this cable is really cheap 5$)

http://cgi.ebay.com/6ft-RCA-STEREO-AUDIO-PATCH-MALE-CABLE-CORD-FOR-TV-DVD_W0QQitemZ390022394304QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item390022394304&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

when you get thoes 3 items the setup is fairly simple but there are guides online.
email me if you have any questions.

What parts do i need for a gaming computer?

eukinu

Recently i have been given a $2000AU budget on a computer. I plan on building this computer myself, off guides on the internet. Though im having trouble seperating what parts i actually need to make the computer run, and the parts i need to increase the performance. Any suggestions would help greatly. Thank you.

Answer
You NEED a motherboard, cpu, ram, hard drive, graphics card, CD/DVD drive, power supply, and case. Get a good quality power supply like Corsair or Seasonic and you'll be in great shape- when cheap power supplies fail, they often take motherboards or other components with them.

Add a monitor, keyboard and mouse unless you have those already.

For gaming rigs the most important thing to remember is that your graphics card is THE most important component in the system. GPU affects in-game performance more than CPU, and you get far more bang/buck by spending there.

You should spend at least 50% more on your graphics card than your processor. A gaming computer built with a $125 processor and $250 graphics card will utterly dominate a computer built with a $250 processor and $125 graphics card, all other components being equal.

Your absolute minimum choice for a computer in that price range should be a GeForce 9800GT or Radeon 4830, but you'll probably want a GTX 260 or Radeon 4870.

The sweet spot of CPU price/performance lies with the high-clockspeed Core 2 Duos, not lower-clockspeed Core 2 Quads. The 3Ghz E8400 is much faster for gaming than the 2.4Ghz Q6600.

Here's a good list of parts for a starting point:
