wont to make a game computer out of a microsoft windows media edition 2005?

fldsrndy

What do I need to improve it for a gaming computer?
Thanks

Answer
That's a windows software not a computer and equipment....need to know the equipment...that's an XP type windows that came out on 2002...and died out when Vista came in...you would be better off with Windows 7 home premium

will this be a good gaming computer?

im thinking about buying a gaming computer from someone and i dont know too much about it. this is what is has

AMD Athlon X2 3600+ (Dual Core)
- ASUS M2V-TVM Motherboard (Latest Bios)
- 4GB (2x2GB) KINGSTON Hyper X DDR2 800MHz RAM
- XFX 9600GSO 512MB (96sp Version) with Cooler Master VIVA Silent Heatpipe Cooler (SILENT!)
**XFX 9600GSO is Factory Overclocked and hits 700/1700/900 - Core / Shader / Memory**
- 160GB Western Digital HDD (2x80GB)
- LG Lightscribe DVDR/RW Burner **Includes FULL Version of Roxio Creator 2012 PRO** ($109.99 MSRP)
- Memory Card Reader & Floppy Drive Combo
- Trendnet Wireless G PCI Card

any suggestions will help. thanks

Answer
It's old, and getting older by the minute - Athlon X2 will be noticeably slow in all apps, even Win7. Plus videocard is only DX9, and it's slow by today's benchies. Oh and DDR2 RAM - is this PC used or refurb or something? It was pretty good around 2005-2006.
Even new AMD A6 with integrated video will be better:

I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.
Also I'm putting in a TV-tuner, and an 80GB HDD which I already own. (HDD has Windows XP Media Center 2005 already on it.)
I also own 2GB DDR PC2-5300 Ram that will be going into it.
changed GPU to an 8800GT, thx for the recommendations.

Answer
Don't use that Apevia PSU. Their power supplies are questionable in quality, with overstated ratings (peak output instead of sustained). They don't hold voltages steady, and you can't be sure how well it will protect your components against shorts. And it uses two teeny weeny 80mm high-speed whiny fans.

Get a high-quality unit, one of the 80-Plus-Certified PSUs.

All of the parts you chose draw VERY little power. The CPU draws 65W max, the 8600GT 50 watts max, rest of system 80 watts. You can run that puppy on just a 300W PSU. I'm running a similar config to yours on a Seasonic S12-360W PSU.

I recommend this high-quality 80-Plus-Certified unit for your system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151032

I bought the value pack with the first three games and the quidditch world cup a long time ago, but I lost the codes I needed to input to install the games. And the computer they were installed on doesn't work anymore. They are the 2005 edition. If the code IS the same for every edition of the different year games, could someone give me the codes for the first three games?
Thanks in advance!

Answer
Yep, they're different for every individual game.

What is the best civilization-type computer game?

Anonymous

I'm stuck between three games from 2005 (Age of Empires 3, Empire Earth 2, and Civilzation 4). I'm looking for a game where I can build a civilzation from the ground up throughout many different eras of history. For example, I want to watch my civilization people build houses and fortresses against attacking armies that might come in and attack my city, all the while aiding my people in making weapons and have a functioning city.

These were the three newest and best games that I found, but I don't know which one can have me do the things I mentioned above, and which one is the best at it.

Answer
i suggest try age of empires. everyone say it is a good game. try age of empires gold edition. first try the demo if you like it then go for it.
