Good Gaming Computer Build?

So I'm looking for a good gaming computer build for under $1000, I'm also new to computers so I have no idea where to start. I'm looking for a computer that can run on triple monitors and can play a game like Arma 2 or Battlefield 3 are mid settings while I'm live streaming and have a few windows open. If there isn't something like this then I would prefer a build that can be upgraded easily.
Can anybody share some builds with me? If so thanks and also this the build I currently might get.

[7/19/2013 8:44:30 AM] Winfield Gibbons: CPU - AMD FX-6300
Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AM3+
Video Card - HIS Radeon HD 7850
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8GB BLUE (2x4GB)
HDD - Western Digital 500 GB
Case - NZXT Source 210
Power Supply - Antec VP-450
Optical Drive â Samsung 24x SATA DVD RW
Operating System- Windows 7
I know that this can't run triple monitors but I do know it can run dual monitors but I'm not sure if this could be upgraded to where it can run triple monitors smoothly.

Answer
That is a nice build but check this one out as well.

Is my computer fast or slow?

Jack

Hello, can you please tell me if my computer is fast or not?
Here are the results from SpeedTest.net

Ping: 17
Download: 15.93 Mb/s
Upload: 10.77 Mb/s
Should I change my provider?
My current provider is Comcastâ¢

Answer
As was said these are Internet connection speeds and have little to do with your computer's speed.

That being said,

Depending on how close the destination server is to you, 17 ms is a good ping (low latency).

Latency is the delay (ping time) in milliseconds that it takes the signal to travel to the server and back. The lower the number the better, but if you are a gamer, you'll definitely want a ping time of under 120 ms or you'll have major problems with online gaming lag. Ideally you want less than 80 ms ping to the gaming server.

Ping time depends on distance and number of connections. Your connection may have to be routed through 15 or 20 hops (different locations) to reach the destination server. Each server has a delay (latency) due to the distances that the signals must travel. Try to choose a closer server to lower your ping time.

Your download and upload speeds are average for a cable Internet provider such as Comcast.

Internet speeds and pricing vary greatly by geographical area. The speeds are slower and the prices are higher in remote areas because there is less competition to lower prices and there are fewer subscribers to share the costs of the equipment and service.

Average broadband speed in the USA is currently around 15.6 Mbps. http://www.fcc.gov/measuring-broadband-america/2013/February

Cable and fiber optic Internet speeds are generally faster than DSL. If you live in a rural area or small area your speeds are extremely fast, However for a major metropolitan area they are just average.

Comcast DOCSIS 3.0 cable Internet boasts speeds up to a blazing 305 Mbps in certain areas. http://isp1.us/blog/comcast-to-launch-ungodly-fast-305-mbps-home-internet/ Fiber optic ADSL2+ and VDSL products are also offered in excess of 300 Mbps in select locations.

You can even get 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps) Google Fiber if you happen to live in the Kansas city area. https://fiber.google.com/about/

Most broadband Internet services including cable, DSL and satellite are asymmetric. which just means that more of the bandwidth is dedicated to the download channel than the upload channel. For instance 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. This is due to the fact that most users download much more than they upload.

Good Luck...

Good specs for a computer to have 2013?

So I have about 500 to a 1000 dollars to spend but I'd really like to spend 500 hundred or so now and invest the rest into upgrades over time. I have no idea where to start at all. I know I want to get a desktop computer and not a laptop. I want to be able to play full games on my computer on high settings with no lag and I want to be able to have the internet open at the same time. I want to be able to upgrade the specs over time too, I was looking to build this on my own too as I know I can get a better quality computer with less money. If anybody can point me in the right direction on where to get the parts to build one and what are good parts to get. Like I said I know nothing about any of this, I don't know what the parts inside are that need to be upgraded, I know things like graphics card, the core processor, and RAM or whatever the memory is that allows things to run faster but I know absolutely nothing about what's good. So by know I hope you can tell I know nothing about what makes a computer good but I do have a reasonable amount of money to spend and I want something that's really good and can be upgraded but not top of the line because I know that's probably out of my budget. Anything helps and if you are going to suggest things over 1000 please try and keep it under 2000 because that's my absolute max.

A good laptop that last for 4-6 years.

Is HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 good?

Answer
I'll answer your second question first.
Not to your criteria.

HP has a few product lines, as does Lenovo and Dell to be competing with Acer-Gateway.
Pavilion by HP, Essentials by Lenovo, Inspiron by Dell, and Satellite by Toshiba, and almost all Acer are the economy models.
Technology says in 3 years, your laptop is a dinosaur. A 3 year warranty costs extra, and after that, if no accidental damage, most things are repairable, but sometimes cost more than the laptop is worth at the time.

Now, I would like to be 20 years younger, win at progressive slots, and be loved by all. You would like a strong gaming laptop, at high reliability, and low cost. See, we think similarly.

Skyrim to GPU is here:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

You want cheap that does the job, but if it breaks or fails or overheats frequently, that goes with cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314119
Skyrim should play high settings for $530.

Lenovo Y510p at a bit under $1000 for a 1080p laptop and GT 750M and Haswell Intel Core i7 quad core is an excellent value at Lenovo.com. Students save a little extra.
Google Lenovo Student, and Lenovo Barnes and Noble Gold.

HP obsoleted and replaced the DV6T-6000. I see DV6T-7000 for $875 without a graphics card (Intel HD 3000).

There are nice Asus, Samsung, MSI, Sony at Newegg.com.

I provided Gaming to GPU, and here is CPU ranking:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmarklist.2436.0.html

Get an idea on price point, and can match laptops to the charts.

Most reliable laptop brands: the results

Apple tops the list, as might be expected from such a premium PC builder. Apple products are far from cheap, but they do offer a quality experience. Runner up Dell has a very different business model. It, like other high-ranking brands HP and Asus, operates as a volume laptop maker, selling many thousands of laptops every week. We would expect to see them, and Lenovo, high up in our list because they sell so many PCs: but their higher ranking suggests a lot of satisfied customers.

Apple: 19%
Dell: 12%
Asus: 11%
HP: 11%
Acer: 9%
Lenovo: 9%
Toshiba: 9%
Samsung: 7%
Sony: 6%
Alienware: 3%
Fujitsu: 1%
MSI: 1%
Panasonic: 1%
I do not agree with this. But this was the results of a large survey...

Which one should I get? I am really confused. Can u also tell me the difference between the two Ethernet types, GDDR5 vs DDR5 and the sound systems and also are the hard drive speeds make any difference with SATA and SATA III. At last and tell me which one is bang for the buck. Thank you in advance. Please describe of why you know.

Answer
The $679.99 desktop seems to be a better buy since it has a memory card reader. The addition of a memory card reader allows you to read memory cards such as those from digital cameras and a few other devices to be used.

The Ethernet ports are the same since the desktops are the same model which, I presume, uses the same motherboard. The different types of Ethernet LAN are the theoretical speeds that the Ethernet is able to handle, most if not all new computers in 2013 come with 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN. The more speeds do not matter since everything is restricted by internet speeds by your internet provider (Verizon, Comcast,etc...)or by networking equipment in your home. If you connect to your internet with a cable to your router or modem, the Dell Ethernet LAN is used. If you use WiFi, then the Dell wireless LAN is used.

There is no difference between GDDR5 and DDR5 since they are labelled under the amd radeon 7570 card which is a dedicated card with its own memory. DDR5 is GDDR5 when it is under a graphics card. A dedicated card is for better performance and graphics for gaming or videos.

Hard Drives in pre-built computers are hard to find out, but again there should not be a difference since they only have one hard drive but the xps 8500 has its hard drive connected to a SATA III port.

The sound systems does not make any difference as many integrated sound systems are sufficient enough. You may have to buy separate speakers for either of the computers which adds to your computer costs since new computers may not come with speakers.

The $679.99 model is better since it costs less and has the same specs and a memory card reader. Keep in mind there are other things that may increase the price of your desktop such as taxes and additional items that are not included such as speakers and monitors. If you are buying from a store, haggle with the manager for a better price, be sure to be kind to them. Best regards to you
