What's the BEST computer for gaming?

BBU

I'm looking for a laptop that's fast enough for my Playstation games to work on my Laptop. Mine isn't fast enough, and I've been looking for a new laptop.. so.... Any suggestions? I have emulators from Gameboys to Playstations. But the only thing that lags on my laptop, are the bigger consoles. So.. pleeeeeeeeaaaasee help me!
I have a Samsung Laptop
Intel Core i3 CPU M 380 @ 2.53GHz
Internal Memory Ram: 4.00 GB
64-bit Operating System.

I'd like to have a faster laptop, for gaming. And I've deleted most of the junk things on my laptop, I can't delete the importants. And I certainly am not willing to go and change any memory page, or relating to that, what so ever, to make my laptop faster. I went through that before, when I was 10, and I messed up really bad. Computer died, because I messed with the "memory page" whatever it's called.

Answer
You need to look up the emulators/games to see what their hardware requirements are before anyone can be of any real help. It all depends upon how demanding the games are. We don't even know what you have to make the slightest guess. It could be a basic low end laptop or it could need to be a full out gaming rig.

Take a look at these rankings:

For a real gaming laptop, they start around $750:

http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/Gaming_Products/

Lenovo, Asus, HP, and Samsung are the top 4 laptop brands. I wouldn't consider any other brands.

Dell makes Alienware and they are not worth the money charged.
Acer makes Gateway. You'd have to pay me to use one of their machines.
Sony hardware has generally been good, but they are notorious for putting huge amounts of crapware/bloatware on machines and gathering information on their consumers without their knowledge or permission.
Toshiba has bottomed the rankings. Personally, I have used them and never had a problem, but that does not appear to be the case any more.

What is the best of the best brand of Laptop computers to buy?

I'm looking to buy a new computer, but I don't know what the best brand would be to get? I basicly just use my computer for the internet, games, and Itunes. What do you recommend???:)

Answer
There is no "best brand". You start at price and decide features that are most important to you.
In general, Samsung, Apple, Lenovo Ideapads and Thinkpads, Asus, MSI, Sony and Toshiba that is not Satellite are in the upper half.

HP-Compaq, HP-Pavilion, Dell Inspiron, Acer-Gateway, Lenovo Essentials, Toshiba Satellite are all in the bottom half, and better grades of HP and Dell could be OK.

Gaming needs GPU Graphics power and which games determine how much.
A higher resolution screen is a big plus.
A better CPU helps.
Lighter in weight is often good.
This is CPU+Graphics

Brand is only one factor. Apple tends to cost a lot of money for the cpu, graphics, ram, and is not software compatible to most gaming without adding Windows. Generally, the price is 50% higher on similar specifications and size/weight, and more than double price if you allow a thicker and heavier system.

There is no exact consistency by brand.

If you are non-USA, brands by country change for value in the purchase.
A Lenovo Y510p in the USA is a great value at +/- $800.

Those that look at brand first, usually need a lot of help to know good from bad. It is very common in China and India to trust by brand first because technology among people and higher quality items purchasing is very new to most people there. Anyone following trends or any single recommendation without documentation and checking up is not a good way to buy.

Is there a significant difference between the Early 2013 MacBook Pro and the Late 2013 MacBook Pro?

I've done a lot of research, but I'm still unsure about it. This is my first time switching to a Mac, so I'm rather unfamiliar with the technology Macs employ.

Anyways, currently the Early 2013 MacBook Pro is on @ $2300 and sports a 2.7gHz w/ 3.5 turboboost Ivy Bridge processer while the new MacBook Pro, the $2600, sports an Iris Pro(?) processer with 2.3gHz and I believe it was with 3.3 or 3.5 turboboost???

Anyways, I kinda wanna save that $200 as Macs are pretty expensive but I need a good computer for college. I'm planning to take computer science courses at school or business. But I'll definitely be majoring in something computer-related.

In my freetime, I like to use photoshop. It's a hobby. I also do video editing and my current PC freezes at times whenever I do that, so I'd like it if the Mac I choose to buy would not freeze and just be smooth throughout the whole editing. I'm also a gamer; I play Minecraft and Sims 3.

So in your opinion, which computer is better?

Answer
The Iris Pro is Intel's latest graphics processor which is not available on the early 2013 version. They both used the i5/i7 processors.

Any Mac from the last 5 years will be able to do all that you ask and give you many years of trouble free computing. The technical specs are less of an issue with Macs as Apple controls the hardware and operating system developers know exactly what they are dealing with and can produce their software accordingly. Whereas each brand of computer running a generic version of Windows can only distinguish itself from the next one on the shelf by claiming a higher GHz and lower Dollar number so it is obviously a better choice.

If you want to save some cash keep an eye on Apple's Refurbished section but they do tend to sell quickly....

Most reliable laptop brands: the results

Apple tops the list, as might be expected from such a premium PC builder. Apple products are far from cheap, but they do offer a quality experience. Runner up Dell has a very different business model. It, like other high-ranking brands HP and Asus, operates as a volume laptop maker, selling many thousands of laptops every week. We would expect to see them, and Lenovo, high up in our list because they sell so many PCs: but their higher ranking suggests a lot of satisfied customers.

Apple: 19%
Dell: 12%
Asus: 11%
HP: 11%
Acer: 9%
Lenovo: 9%
Toshiba: 9%
Samsung: 7%
Sony: 6%
Alienware: 3%
Fujitsu: 1%
MSI: 1%
Panasonic: 1%
I do not agree with this. But this was the results of a large survey...

Does the Alienware X51 work on a regular computer moniter?

BullsFTW

I've been looking to start saving for the Alienware X51 as a gaming pc and there's a bunch of stuff everywhere about using it in your living room. Can you just use it on a regular computer monitor like you would with an Acer computer or something? If not, what are some other gaming pc's that can run CoD and BF games. Or, what are some pc's that you recommend more than the X51. I would not want to go much over the $1000 US dollar range, so keep it around there. Also, I want to run dual monitors, one for gaming and one for web browsing and stuff. Thanks to any answers :D
Also, if you suggest something else, I would want an i7 processor, a good Nividia graphics card, and a really good amount of memory so I never have to worry about running out. Thanks again to anyone who answers :D

Answer
You can connect it to anything which has a compatible connection. Does the laptop have HDMI? then you can connect to an HDMI tv or monitor. The same for DVI, Analog, or Display Port.

However, if you want your machine sooner than later and would prefer not to over pay, please read on:
