Roxio Game Capture Video Wave crashes when I add background audio?

Corio

I recently installed the video editing software for my Roxio Game Capture HD Pro and everything works except for adding background audio. The capture card does not record my voice while I'm playing so I figured I would use Sound Recorder to record it while I play and then just overlay my voice after recording the video. The problem is that whenever I click the "Add Background Audio" button the File Explorer appears but a message immediately pops up saying "Videowave has stopped working" and then the program closes.

I am using a Toshiba Satellite A665(64 bit) with a Core i3, and Intel HD Graphics. I have Windows 8 and the program would only install when I used the Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode(if I didn't do this the installation would roll back when doing something with DirectX 9). I have attempted running the software with Game Booster Razer and also after installing a patch from October 2012 and restarting a computer but it still crashes when I try to add audio.
Any Ideas?

How to stop laptop overheating when playing games?

Jake

elloo. So my problem is that when i play games like dishonored and NFSMW (2012) my computer overheats. Now I have solved this problem by simply putting a fan beside my computer but that extremely inconvinient during winter. I defragged my PC.
Here are my specs.
8GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce 540M
Intel i5 2410M @ 2.3GHZ
Dat enuff infomation?

Answer
Nice laptop.

You may already know this, but I definitely wouldn't play with it on your lap because that can cause damage to your legs over time, plus since yours is overheating I imagine you probably play on a desk or something most of the time anyway.

Try taking something like a small paperback book or something to prop up your laptop with so that the hottest parts of it aren't touching the desk. This increased surface area being exposed to the air will help cooling fairly significantly, especially if your fan happens to blow out of the bottom. And, if you ever have a fan blowing on it, it will stay especially cool when the bottom is exposed.

If that doesn't work you could always buy one of those external fan things. It basically fits to the bottom of your laptop and keep it off the desk so the bottom is exposed, and it has little built in fans that help blow even more heat out.

Hope that helps.

Also one that has lots of software on it and or good for playing games for my nephews when they are around?

Answer
Computers come with a trial version of Internet security after that you have to purchase it would recommend Norton Internet Security 2012, have used Norton for years with out any problems and you can also set up parental controls for keeping the nephews safe online and see what they are going to online. Most laptop and desk tops come install with some software but you would need to purchase and install the type of software that works for you like Microsoft Office or the free Open Office Suite that is comparable too and compatible with MS Office. Children should be supervised and instructed on proper use of the operating system and software to keep the PC from having system problems as they are not toy's and costly and time consuming to fix. Windows 7 is the new Operating System launched by Microsoft in 2009 as an upgrade from XP or Vista. Look here compare models, features, spec's, for gaming recommend the Qosmio models and they are good for all uses as well. http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/laptops.to?family=Qosmio

Answer

I'd go for an i5 & Z77 mobo
however for decent performance you are looking at £600

you'd get much better value for money getting a used or refurb off ebay

Buying desk top computer, what to look for and what brandâ¦.?

NoHearYa

Buying desk top computer, what to look for and what brandâ¦.
We 5 in a family have an old desk top computer going on 12 years soon!
Lately this time at 2012, what are the important things you'd want to look for in a desk top computer to run for a looong time?
Beginning from number one number two and so on (hard drive, rpm, cpu, memory, video card, etc?).
Then what brand(s) would be the best to buy on a tight budget?
It will be a family computer, all of us at school from middle school to college, work and for organization I work for too. Weâd use it for browsing online for school work/work doing research, paper, designing websites, online newsletter (a lot of writing), family photos, art, videos, burning cds/dvds, ituning, windows 7, Microsoft, PDF, adobe readers, printing, scanning, faxing, some Music Downloads, and card and board games but no intense video games.
Our monitor is about a couple years - may or may not need to get one.
Thank you for your time checking this out!
++++ Hey, one more thing... if possible free or low fees for customer service for computer if problems pops up in the future for all year round too!

Answer
You should have mentioned you budget also.
1. The Processor. This is the brain of the PC. go for a second generation Intel i5 or AMD Phenome quad core.
2. Motherboard - ASUS is good brand. Must have PCIe slot also. Should match with CPU.
3. RAM - faster and higher capacity is preferable. 4 GB DDR3 is a good choice. This should match with your Mobo.
4. Graphics card - A wide choice is available here. If no heavy gaming is neded then an ordinary vanilla card will suffice.
5. Sound card and speakers. For a small fee you can improve the sound quality several fold than what is provided on the Mobo.
6. Cabinet and power supply. Should match with all other compnents in power requirement.
7. Keyboard and mouse. Both should be sturdy. spend some money here. Woireless is not preferred.
8. Hard drive. 1.0 terra byte is a decent figure.
9. DVD writer. Good quality.
10. Web Cam with microphone. Can be used for messaging.
11. A 22 inch LCD monitor
12. Good Operating system. I personally use Ubuntu 12.04 which is free and most versatile. Many people use windows 7 whch may cost 100 dollars or more.
You can get the prices from ebay.com, tigerdirect.com etc. Collect data from many web sites brfore making a final choice.

How can i get noticed for work and work without needing to pay for it?

okay mums quite broke and i want a few things, im 14 and i cant spend money to make money. i can do things like walk dogs, scoop up poo and mow.
would the employer allow me to use their mower and fuel?
i would like the money rather fast, as im really bored and have nothing to do, i want to buy a PS3, so i need around $250, and trading in my 360. I would also like a flat screen and computer desk later on, so im hoping to have this by the end of the year. how can i get advertised, i wont be able to drive or anything so it will have to be relatively local, should i just do door knocking to the people with long lawns, or everyone and hand them my number?

I need $7 for skyrim,
$250 for a PS3
$100 for my games back (on ps3)
$400 for a desk (aprox)

[may not happen] $700 for a flat screen (aprox)

can it be possible by the end of 2012, in or excluding the TV?
Im in QLD Australia, and may be able to get a part time job on weekends, but i would prefer doing this as i can work my own hrs ect.

Answer
"okay mums quite broke"

That just might be a clue that u need to be thinking of someone besides yourself. Karma is real dude.

But when I was 14 I started working for a motorcycle shop. And it was all cleanup and deliver this or that at first. Then it worked into minor repair jobs and even occasionally showing a bike to a customer.

I worked there until I came to university.

I don't know what the labour laws are like in Australia, but here guys can usually get cleanup type jobs fairly easy even if they are as young as 12. And, of course, yard work, dogs, babysitting and such are always options. If u like kids (which I don't much) u might do babysitting. I know guys who do it.
