my gta 4 game works fine on my computer but it is little slow this game does not meet the minimum system ?

Ash scottm

requirements but still plays good.i have installed the new patch and updated my graphic card with 170.84 version for my geforce 8400 gs version.ram is 1 gb.give me suggestions in order to increase game speed
2.87mhz, xp-sp3, dual core

Answer
Hi

1. 1 GB of RAM is the bare minimum to run GTA: IV on, and that's your first problem. Invest some money into buying two or three 1 GB sticks of DDR2 RAM.

2. The 8400 GS is a decent graphics card now, but it's nowhere near enough for running GTA: IV on medium settings. An ATI RADEON 3870 or NVIDIA 9800 GT are recommended to play GTA: IV effectively. Those accelerator cards are far better than the one you currently have. Definitely upgrade this component soon.

3. You never told me the speed of your CPU and what type of processor do you have? These two aspects are important in determining how well the game will run as well. I suggest at least a duo core, AMD at 2.5 GHz. Additionally, a triple/ quad core will be excellent for high-end gaming applications.

Answer
Yeah, it will run moderately. Although you will need to run on the Lowest Setting; Low Graphics. You have an Average video card so that will probably reduce FPS. Your RAM is a bit low but could probably handle the game just fine. Yes Sir, you can run GTA! ;P

Can my computer handle gta 4 and other games?

lfcrule2

I have inspiron 530 with dual core 2.66ghz with 2gb ram, 500gb hard drive (and 100gb external) but my graphics cards only 128mb. Does the 900mb "shared graphics memory" work on games??

Answer
You can run GTA IV - but you'll be running at about 5FPS which is almost like a slide show. And if you try it with full settings you'll probably burn out your graphics card.

A desktop computer with a quad core processor, 6 to 8 gigs or ram, Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 TI or higher video card, windows 7 64bit, 700 watt power supply. Cost around $1200.00 If you want to do laptop go with some kind of alienware. I don't recommend a laptop for gaming because of overheat problems, most laptops come with a intel graphic chip that is no good for gaming, and you can't upgrade a laptop in the future. Best thing to do is look for a desktop with the stats I gave you and you should be good for years to come.

Where Can I Get A Good, Cheap Gaming Desktop Computer?

Unholyange

I'm looking for a good gaming computer, to play games like fallout 3, GTA 4, and all that fun, but high graphic stuff. But I need one for cheap, is there a store or something that I can get one for around 4-6 Hundred? Or as low as you can find, Thanks!

Answer
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition, 3.2GHz + easy overclock - $190
Motherboard: ASUS M4A79XTD - $120
Graphics: HD4870 - $130
RAM: 4GB G.Skill DDR3 1333/PC10600 - $80
Power Supply: OCZ 700 Watt OCZ700SXS - $85
Case: Whatever you want - ~$50
Monitor: Whatever you want - ~$150
Hard Drive: Whatever you want - ~$75
Total from Newegg.com - $820, $545 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS

Assuming you already have a computer with an OS, Monitor, and Hard drive you can build this for about $550. However, you might have to buy a new OS if it's an OEM version (only work on first motherboard installed on). To find out, go to Control Panel > System and look under "Registered to". It should say "[your name here]" and a couple lines below, a bunch of numbers if it is a Retail edition (good). Otherwise, it should say "OEM", which means you'll need to buy a new OS.

If you want to cut prices, replace the processor with the X4 940 (3.0GHz) instead, find a AM2/AM2+/AM3 compatible motherboard, and replace the RAM with DDR2. This should save about $100, but decrease performance (DDR3 RAM is better than DDR2, 940 isn't as easily overclockable). The 940 will drop the price $20, the new motherboard will drop the price $50, and the RAM will drop the price $30.

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231207

Also, if you want to be cheap without sacrificing upgrade possibilities, keep the DDR3 RAM (or switch to the DDR2, your choice), take the motherboard listed just above (the AM2/AM2+/AM3 one), get a Athlon II X4 620 (2.6GHz) for $100, and get an HD4850 graphics card for $100. This will drop the price a total of $140 ($170 with DDR2 RAM) without sacrificing a lot of performance.
In case you were wondering, the reason for getting an AM3 compatible motherboard is that in case you want to upgrade in the future, it would be great to have a motherboard compatible with the most recently released socket for AMD because it will support their newest processors and their possible upcoming processors. If you want to cut prices with the best possible processor and graphics card, take the original X4 945 build, replace the motherboard with the AM2/AM2+/AM3 and get DDR2 RAM (or keep DDR3) to save $50 ($80 with DDR2 RAM)

Link to the X4 620:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706&Tpk=19-103-706

Price Summary:
X4 945 first listed - $820, $545 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 945 w/DDR2 - $740, $465 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 945 w/DDR3 and new motherboard - $770, $495 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 940 w/DDR2 - $720, $445 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 940 w/DDR3 - $750, $475 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 620 w/DDR2 and HD4870 - $700, $425 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 620 w/DDR3 and HD4870 - $730, $455 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 620 w/DDR2 and HD4850 - $670, $395 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS
X4 620 w/DDR3 and HD4850 - $700, $425 before Case, Monitor, Hard Drive, OS

All this is assuming you can build the computer with the instruction manuals you'll get from the parts. If you have a techy friend, ask them to help you. If you don't want to try this, go to eCollegePC.com and create your own, which will come pre-assembled. They aren't as cheap as building and constructing your own through Newegg.com, but you won't have to build it yourself. Hope this helps, good luck!
