I am building my own gaming computer and i need to know what i should look for in a memory unit in order to have a good memory for my computer.

Answer
Once you know what motherboard you want for your computer, just build around it with parts that are compatible. Most important aspect of the motherboard is the chipset (intel x67 or amd 890fx are good choices, depending what features you want to include). In my experience, AMD based motherboards last longer and greater in stability, but intel generaly are a bit faster at the cost of parts failing sooner... I suggest getting a motherboard from ASUS, as they have good prices and very high quality backed up with excelent customer support.

As far as memory goes, look for the highest frquency with lowest latency that is compatible with your motherboard and also the biggest package per stick (8+Gb per stick). Another important aspect to look into is the hard drives (a solid state drive 120Gb+ to operate from and a large capacity hard drive to use as storage 1Tb+, to not need reinstalation or new drive for extra space in future)

What would you recommend for a gaming computer?

I plan to buy a new gaming computer. What would you recommend I put on it? What kind of graphics card? Sound and Speakers? Processor and Memory?
I would prefer the system to stay under $1000. I'm okay otherwise if you know it works well.

Every week, my mom takes my stuff from her house to my dad's. I have been doing this with my Xbox 360 but am now thinking about building my own gaming computer. It would be much cheaper and powerful if it was a desktop, and I was wondering, how safe would it be for the computer to move it in a car this often. I could package it and hate being restricted on this by having divorced parents, so is it possible and if so, how?

Answer
Hi,If you keep it out of sight and out of mind it should be alright.I also would change my times of delivery.also keep the fact to yourself about the moving of the items. Good Luck.

How to ship a computer tower without taking it appart?

Rra

How would you do this? I'm going to build a computer for a friend that lives far away and it needs to be shipped.. And they know nothing about computers so I can't take it apart and ship it lol... It's going to be a gaming computer so it will have a big heatsink and a big GPU. Thanks.

Answer
The best way would be to build the pc, keep the tower packing and then send it in the box that came with the tower. It usually comes with styrofoam padding to protect the pc, but since the parts would add weight, I would trying to add more packaging that what comes in the pc case, but I think it should still be fine

How many watts do i need in my power supply? I know my graphics card uses 400 watts by itself and i have a gaming computer that im used to play battlefield3 etc. On. I was looking at the ocz fatal1ty 550 watt but i dont know if thats enough. Help?

Answer
its not like that ,
when its witting on the package of the graphic card or at the manufacturer site "minimum power needed 400w" means they already estimate the full power needed for the pc to work with this card
what is your graphic card by the way ?

I'm looking for a laptop around the 900-1500 mark for gaming and entertainment. I was thinking about getting this package http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9999106300050010&type=product&id=pcmprd106200050010.

Gaming computer brands would help a lot.

Answer
AlienWare laptops are supposedly (I don't have one) very good for gaming.
