Can i build/buy a fast gaming computer for under $800?

Tyler

I want to get a gaming computer but my budget is at around $800!! I was wondering, can i get a fast reliable gaming computer for under 800 dollars and still get high FPS and no lag and will i be able to run any game? If so could someone give me some links or some advice where to shop and what to do??

Also i already have a big monitor and a keyboard and mouse!!

Answer
Yes you can. but don't expect to go to far from 800. Prolly around 600 to 700.

Now if you knew how to build a pc 'd direct you to sites like newegg.com. tigerdirect.com. micropc.com.

But I'm guessing you havn't before. And I say this because while it's not hard, alot of shit can go wrong and you get to spend the time sometimes troubleshooting it.

So i'm thinking a builders site is for you. The one I like to use is http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Xtreme_1000/ Subsiquently that's a build I ran over quickly. Though you can tweak it for your liking. Because it's labor day they have alot sales going on. SO, spend a day running through that place and see what ya come up with.

Granted I still say home built would be cheaper and better if you have the tinkering skills.

Great gaming computer?

Well i'm looking to buy a great gaming computer that can handle most games on max settings and my budget is probably a max of $750-$800 but id really prefer to stay at or under $700 and even though that might not be much I want to know whats the best i can get with that, and also if you say build your own i'm not exactly sure how to so even if i had the parts i wouldn't know what to do
Also if your going to say "you cant get much with that budget" well I'm asking whats the BEST i can get with THAT budget and if you say "build you own" can u give me links to understand how to build my own and whats parts the buy?

I hope I helped you. BTW order the Motherboard and CPU first before you order the memory to make sure the memory/RAM is completely compatible with the board. Im quite sure it is but ASUS can be fishy when it comes to RAM sometimes.

I encourage you to look up alot of sites on how exactly to build and install a CPU, Motherboard, the Fan, and how how all the parts fit together. BTW this Motherboard is highly upgradeable when you learn more about computers so it is a good start. Be safe and find out how to build it.

Best gaming computer under 800$?

Heres a challenge best gaming computer under 800$ including the monitor.

Link to actual computers.

Build a computer yourself send me the link if you want or find one online thats already good.

Answer
Ok, here is one for $679 in the link below. It has nice Quad Core AMD processor overclocked, good video card but I would upgrade it to at least 6750, everything else is just fine. Will run any game, most on high settings. You can ask for any promotions on this one as I know CC runs them a lot, without announcing. Monitor- right now there is an excellent deal on ebay - buy.com sells Viewsonic 24" for just $130!, so it makes a good $800 machine.

I want to build a gaming computer, but when I looked online there were so many different kinds of parts, and I have no idea where to begin. So, how do I choose the parts I want? I'm looking for a pretty good computer that can run most games on highest settings (like Battlefield 3, Planetside 2, Skyrim, or Guild Wars 2) that's not too expensive, preferably under 800.

Answer
A motherboard with an Intel I7 8 core cpu is a start. Add 16 GB ram. Add an Asus GeForce GTX 560 Video card.........It's a great place to start. You can downgrade the 16gb ram, but stick with the rest.
