I have an ASUS VS228H-P 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDMI input and my 360 has an HDMI output. When I plug in the HDMI cable into the monitor and Xbox, I get no signal at all. However when I use a TV the signal is picked up. I have tried using two different cables, same result. When I use a VGA cable for the 360 to monitor it works great. However I cannot get the HDMI on the monitor working, any advise?

Since you say you have an HDMI output from Xbox, I have to guess it might be the "slim" model. You have to start it a certain way to activate the HDMI output port?

how to connect a xbox 360 to a gaming monitor?

So i am getting a gaming monitor for my birthday but i don't know what i need. i also have a HD PVR2 but monitors don't have sound. someone told me you could get speakers but how would the HD PVR capture the sound. i need help on how to connect it all up, things that i'll need etc. and if you put it into instructions it would help a lot thanks in advance

Just buy a small 1080p HDTV. That way it'll have built-in speakers, and should be easier to connect with your HD PVR.
