Should i buy a gaming computer or regular computer?

What's the difference? IS there something good about regular computer that gaming computer don't have. Or is there something good about gaming computer that regular computer don't have. Plz give me some info if you can.

The question is: do you game? If not, get a regular computer. If you do, get a gaming one.

Gaming computers generally have better graphics, processors, RAM, etc for gaming. Typically a non-gaming computer's biggest weakness is the video card, which doesn't really matter if you don't game. However, keep in mind that there are a LOT of "normal" computers with low-end processors (Celerons, Pentiums, Semprons, etc). These computers have weak graphics AND processors, so upgrading the graphics will not make it a gaming computer. Also keep in mind that a laptop's video card CANNOT be upgraded at all.

What should I look for in a cheap but semi good Gaming Computer?

I am looking for a Gaming Computer to give my son for Christmas but I don't know what to look for. I am also on a small budget of $700-$800. If any one can tell me anything about what to look for in a Gaming Computer, that would help me out alot.

Gaming computer should be balanced, it needs good video card and processor, for example for your budget Intel i3 would be ideal, with video card like Nvidia GT 630 or ATI 6670 and up, RAM - even 4GB would be perfect for such budget, 8GB is preferable but not necessary. The rest - 500GB hard drive, DVD burner - are standard, any good looking case to say it's gaming PC, reliable power supply 400W+. Any computer from the store would not do, they are unbalanced non-gaming machines. Get real custom gaming computer like this one:

I've heard of people playing Pokemon and other non PC games on their computers but I have no idea how to do this. I would love to be able to play all the pokemon games. Can anyone help me out? It would be highly appreciated.

I have seen the geforce 6100 onboard before and that was actually pretty decent for a non gaming computer, how does the readon 2100 compare?

It'd be about the same as a 6100 onboard. Not very good, but just good enough for very basic stuff.

How well do browser based games play on non gaming computers?

Q. I am looking at a Laptop from micro center and it does not have dedicated gaming memory. And all I need it for is to play browser based games like runescape and adventurequest.


My question is how well do they play? I am on a non gaming computer right now and it plays those games really well.

Adventure quest you will be fine with, same with Runescape. Runescape has revamped there graphics quiet a lot since I played them back when I was like 13 haha, but the good with about it now, is you are able to fool around to find the best looking game with the best performance for your system now.

Depends what the spec requirements for Sims 3 is, it's not coming out for awhile. Take a gander at Sims 2 computer requirements - if your computer can't run Sims 2 it won't be able to run Sims 3.
