Why does my PS3 lag offline on most games on 23 inch full 1080p LED PC monitor ?

WILDLEGHOR

So for 2 years I've played on my PC which was a very powerful rig ! But recently last week, I bought a PS3 Slim & I've been noticing some lag (basically rendering lag,) on most games like KZ2 (appears to run in about 35 to 40 fps & not 60), Fallout 3 GOTY (same problem), etc ! Overall the gameplay is smooth & fps are constant but it feels to me that I'm getting about 35-40 fps on all games & not more than that ! Why is this so ? Is it because I've been gaming on my powerful PC rig in the past @ 60fps ? Is it because of my small size of PC monitor (using HDMI though !)? Can someone name me some games that run a.) full 1080p b.) 60fps constant (a. & b. can be different) ? It's getting more than enough air-flow as I've placed a big ass giant table fan in front of it & after touching it for more than 5 hour, I can safely say it's not overheating or getting hot AT ALL !! It's mildly hot (but as you'd except, not more) !

What do you guys think is it me being paranoid (especially because I gamed on my powerful PC for so long) ? Is this the same feeling everyone gets while playing ? Or is it just me ? Will buying a 40+ inch HDTV solve my problem to some extent ! PLz.. tell me the cheapest price of a 40 inch full HDTV (don't care about company/manufacturer, i just want an estimation of cheapest quality 40inch HDTV) ? What do you think ? Can this be because of a cheap HDMI cable (red in colour)

Any PC gamer turned to PS3 gamer's advice would be really helpful, also someone gaming a PS3 on 25 inch or low monitor advice would be appreciated !

Answer
Your problem actually stems from your PS3 and not your monitor. Had the same problem when I switched to a PS3 when my PC blue-screened on me. Also, contrary to popular opinion, Fallout 3 GOTY is not perfect. In fact, a week into buying the game, i had 7 freezes and 2 crashes on my Fallout 3 GOTY, on a MONTH OLD PS3 ! The size of the monitor doesn't matter, as I run mine on a 21 inch LG monitor at 720p. My advice to you would be, if you have such a powerful PC, play Fallout on said PC. Leave the PS3 for console-only games. I've always noticed Fallout working better on the PC anyway.

Best monitor/led tv for ps4 gaming and pc?

Jordan

My budgets £350 Iive in the uk so vizio ones aren't available here, anyways I'm looking for a monitor/led tv between 26-32in in size that are atleast 120hz and full hd 1080p. And would like to try and get a stylish looking one but not needed. These are pretty must the must have feature but any others that would be and advantage for gaming like good sound and game mode setting is a plus

Answer
I think 27 inch is the perfect size since it is for both pc and console. You should go with something like ViewSonic VX2770SMH.

http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2370SMH-LED-23-Inch-Monitor-Frameless/dp/B008RM235I/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&tag=informazcom-20

It is 27 inch and has 1920 x 1080p and it is 120hz. It has 1 hdmi slot for your ps4 :D. And it has gaming mode. Viewsonic brand is really reputable and they have good review.

It has a built in speaker but since it has an external audio input, if you have a surround speaker you can easily plug in. Hope my answer helped!!

How many gaming pc's can run on a 15amp circuit?

best pc gaming led monitor image
Q. Considering each pc was running a 750watt power supply? Or a 550watt power supply? or as low as a 330watt powersupply? I understand it depends on the games and settings etc.but I just wanted a rough idea on the number of computers? Would 4 PC's be safe? Also each would have energy efficient led monitors, say 21" or so.

Answer
The PSU wattage doesn't matter, the computer only uses as much as the components demand.

I have:

700W non power factor corrected PSU
ASRock X79 EXTREME4-M
Intel i7 3820 @ stock speed and voltage
16GB (2x8GB) RAM
GTX 560 card, also stock speed and voltage

My system uses ~90 watts idle, and 400 watts with Prime95 and Furmark both running, so:

400w/100v (worst case) is 4 amps BUT since it is non-PFC, its power factor is only .6, so ~6.7 amps.

This is without the monitor hence I could only run 2 system units, but with my dual monitors and AVR for surround sound I can only run 1.

Also circuits can't be loaded to more than 80% if it is a load that will be on for more than a few minutes, hence you only have 12 amps to play with, not the full 15.

You should buy a kill-A-Watt meter, plug your rig into it, play your games for 1 hour, and the recorded watthour usage for that hour is your actual average power usage, IE if it shows .24KWh after 1 hour, you averaged 240 watts, and with all PCs having active power factor correction you could theoretically run 6 of them on the same circuit.

How can i make the best gaming pc you can get under 950$?

Q. I want the best you can get out of this money. And i want to know if its capable of playing games such as battlefield 3 black ops 2. And i also want to know if it will be capable of playing Call of Duty Ghosts and battlefield 4 when they are out. I need a monitor keyboard and mouse to fit this budget. It may be a tight budget but i really want to become a pc gamer. SO MANY ADVANTAGES! NO i DONT need an OS

Can computer Led/Lcd monitor upscale lower resolution video to fit in higher resolution screen?

ANTIMATTER

Ok it's probably a noob question.

As far as I know HD led/lcd tvs can upscale lower resolution game video/frames(ps3 xbox 360) to fit the whole screen.

So I need to know can computer monitor with hd resolution support (1920x1080) upscale 1360x768p resolution game video/frames to fit the whole screen?Or I need to play at native 1920x1080p resolution so that the monitor can fill the whole screen? Is there any special type or model of any Lcd/Led monitor that can upscale Pc game's frames from lower resolution to fit the whole screen? Is this any special feature for computer Led/Lcd monitor? If so what is this feature is called/named?Do different manufacturers lcd monitor have different names of this feature?

the reason I am asking is because I play at 1360x768p resolution on 16 inches lcd monitor and now I am thinking about updating to a 1920x1080p monitor. But if I play at 1360x768p resolution will there be blank spaces around the edges of monitor screen or the monitor will upscale the game frames to fit the whole screen ?
ok those blank bars do make me feel the monitor is not used to it's full potential

kind of makes the monitor feel empty and game screen with black bars also feels

quite weird to me.

So what is the aspect ratio of 1360x768 resolution 16:9 or 16:10?Will it upscale and fit to 1920x1080 resolution monitor or leave blank bars outside the game frame?

Answer
1360x768 is 1.7708333 ratio. 1920x1080 is 1.777777 ratio. Very close.
16:10 is 1.6 ratio. 16:9 is 1.77777 ratio. As you can see, the 16:9 ratio screen best fits both the resolutions you are trying for.
But there is a cost to upscaling. Since you cannot manufacture greater detail out of a lower resolution signal like 1360x768, what upscaling does is to add in duplicated pixels every so often. Since there are (1920-1360 = 560) more pixels to put into the picture, that means somehow those 560 pixels are added over the spread of 1920 pixels. About every 3.42 pixels another one is added. Actually it goes 3,3,4,3,4,3,3,4,3,4 etc. As you can see, a lot of duplicates are added. The resolution is not any better. It is just expanded to cover greater area of screen. It does get fuzzier if you compare side by side. But you are supposed to view from a greater distance so you will not notice.
And, I think the standard is 1366x768, not 1360x768. That gives a 1.7786 ratio.

What power supply should i get for my gaming pc also what size case?
