Gaming Monitors Gamers Advice !?

Nicko

Hi guys I've been gaming on this small dell monitor i dont even know its old but its flat screen its like 1000 x 920
Sorry im a computer noob. But my 2 main things that are outdated are my monitor that I have been gaming for years on. And my desk lol. Which doesnt even count. My question is I actuslly like my monitor even though its old I would want a newer slightly bigger monitor cuz of the fancy colors and such. What are some minitors are like this ? I prefer it to be the samd size as mine but hd. I just want that personal gaming Computer feel not to big not to small just right but prefer it to be on the small size. Or just give me two minotors one leaning on the smaller side and another leading to the bigger side.

Btw what monitor size do you prefer and do you think a smaller monitor would help on fps and rts or just most games in general bcuz everything is more compacted and you can see everything or is it just down to personal prefrence?

Thanks and sorry if theres spelling or grammer errors im on my phone.

Answer
The best Monitors will be LED I do not know if they are to market yet but the Televisions are. The size will make no difference to the FPS that's down to the graphics card.

on the smaller screens you will be satisfied with a lower FPS the larger the more faults tearing flicker etc you will notice.

When I played games I once plugged into the Television on Scart (RGB) and a 15' monitor it was alright but better on the monitor the monitor was CRT of course .. It was just more immersive on the monitor more involving you felt you were "in there" when you played games like HAlf life and so on. In ln other words better more fun.

Hope that's been useful to you.

Gaming Monitor Advice?

Heart Of a

So I'm going to buy a monitor for my ps3. Never bought a monitor before, always used a tv. So I need to know is this one any good? http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9127324.htm I like the size for the price plus its a Samsung. Opinions would be much appreciated. I don't really want to buy a monitor online which also slightly narrows my choice.
Ok so thank you for the feedback! The reason I did choose this is because of the speakers so your saying theyre not worth it. So after looking some more would i be better to chose a 100euro monitor and buy 100euro headset? Im not looking to go all out on spending. If I was to buy online what you you recommend? My budget is 200 euro and a tv between 20 and 23 inches would be great.

Answer
Unless you're going to use it for a computer also stick with a TV, monitors usually cost 10%-20% because of the wider range of supported refresh rates and resolutions.

I recently got an epic Alienware gaming desktop and Asus monitor. I got the standard keyboard and mouse for Alienware but I'm going to get a Razer gaming keyboard, mouse, and mouse pad. I know what mouse pad I'm going to get but I need some tips or advice on which keyboard and mouse I should get. I was kind of thinking about the Black Widow, not the dumb touchscreen one. I don't know what mouse to get though. Not something really expensive though. Thanks.

Answer
Ok, to solve your question, razer is generally reputed to be overpriced. The best mouse that Razer makes is the DeathAdder. As for the keyboard, if you're fine with mechanical keyboards, i reccommend the BlackWidow.

Hope I helped.

What would be a good computer for me?

Kendall

I have 2 20" monitors that I run at the same time and multi task on both and my current computer just can't keep up with it. I usually have a game running on one screen while I have movies or posibly another game running on the other monitor? Any advice as to what I need in a computer?

Answer
I do it differently. I have a low wattage desktop that I use mainly for web browsing, light office apps, MP3 and DVD playing. I have a higher wattage rig for games, DVD burning and everything that the low power rig could do. The two PCs share a single LCD screen, keyboard and mouse through a KVM switch. I just toggle the KVM switch to select w/c PC I want to view.

I'm planning on taking my laptop to Pakistan whilst I'm there on holiday. Can anyone give me advice of the pitfalls, it's common knowledge that the folks in the Islamabad customs are con artists. But as far as official law goes is there anything preventing me from taking my laptop with me?

Any advice is highly appreciated, best answer obviously gets 10 points.

How can I use dual monitors with one monitor running a game?

Is there a way to run a full screen application such as a game on one monitor and be able to utilize all my other applications such as my web browser on the other monitor simultaneously?

My goal is to be able to browse the internet on one monitor and run a full screen game on the other monitor without interrupting the game

The only way I'm aware this can be done is through alt tabbing away and that pauses the game or even pulls it out of full screen mode entirely which then has to be reactivated.

I realize that the active window (which in my case is a full screen game) will always be utilizing the keyboard and mouse while running, so there wouldn't be any cursor with which to use on my second monitor.

Now with my specific configuration, any game running on the other monitor (which is a television) will be using an Xbox 360 controller only. With that in mind, does anyone know of a way to assign the controller to the full screen game (monitor 1) while the keyboard and mouse are assigned to the the other display (monitor 2)? I've tried a number of things to make this work but switching to any other application instantly pauses, minimizes, or pulls out of full screen mode the game. My computer is running Windows 8.

Thanks for any advice.

Answer
You can switch the game to windowed mode, and Put it on the side. There should be an option for that.

Answer
Dynamic contrast ratio doesn't matter. Most good quality LED monitors have a static contrast of 1000, which is good enough for nice gaming. The response time doesn't matter most of the time either. 27'' monitors below 500$ all have TN panels, and those panels all have adequate response time for gaming. A good brand that I trust is Samsung.

Good day.
