Monitor or TV for gaming?

Joseph

Should I buy a monitor or tv for gaming? PS3 gaming right now but later on I will be doing PC as well. Which would be better for gaming?
Oh I forgot to mention, I will be gaming on a desk. So a small screen like 24 inch.

Answer
Monitor! Cheaper when it comes to having better graphics, faster response (lower ms), better quality...BUT...it depends on how big you want it. 27 > x > 0 according to me is better if it's a monitor, 27< x better with a tv...also depends if you want audio, and all that stuff that comes with a tv. I actually have the same dilemma, I also have a ps3 and have been wanting to buy either a monitor or a tv. I have it on my desktop (27") and i use it for PC, Ps3 and media (movies), I just hooked it up with a sorround system and...viola!

Which is better for gaming lcd monitor or tv?

I am interested in purchasing either a new tv or monitor mostly for gaming. I am looking at a 32 in tv or around a 23in monitor. I do not have a huge budget, I want to spend a max of 400 dollars. I am in need of a tv in general but i'm worried that the lag will make gaming terrible. If anyone has any suggestions on tvs that are good for gaming in my price range I am open to anything. I just want to be able to play games like Gears and Halo without tv lag.

Answer
I would say a TV but go with 1080i or 1080p. Monitors are meant for computers. But you could find a monitor meant for gaming which will have a higher refresh rate which will make the frames faster. Well not faster but look better.

I need a monitor/tv for gaming. It has to be 26"+... I feel that 23 is too small. This will be a desk gaming monitor/tv. It has to be under 200. It will MOST be used almost everyday for ps3 gaming(mw3). I was gonna get the asus 23 inch Vh236h lcd monitor. It was the 2011 official gaming monitor. But I feel I want something a little bigger. Please help. Big thanks.

Answer
Monitor 24"-31" I'd recommend a Dell. TV 32" and up I'd recommend a LG LED set like the LM5800 or LM6200.

How can I switch between a gaming monitor and an HD TV for my Xbox 360 and soon to be Xbox One?

Nick

I currently have an Xbox 360 that is connected to an HD PVR through component cables. I would like to know if it's possible to also connect it to an HD monitor through HDMI and run that cable about 10 feet without losing response time and quality. I wanted to set up an HD gaming monitor right next to my computer monitor because these monitors are better for professional gaming because they have such fast response times and your eyes are able to see the entire monitor.

I like to play family games and sports games on the big screen but also like to play FPS games on a monitor. I just don't know if I am able to get an HDMI cable long enough to reach my monitor from where my Xbox is positioned. I don't want to move my Xbox back and forth and I am not able to unplug any cables due to the meer fact that they are hidden behind a furniture set that can't be taken apart. All answers are much appreciated, thanks for your time.

Answer
10 feet of HDMI is what i have and it works fine and you can buy them up to 30 feet. and you should just be able to plug into both and play using both screens, if you're not then i suggest cable splitting, just use your primary cable for the fps professional gaming and there still will be minimal lag time. You're family games will suffer a little but barely noticeable too and in reference to the pvr, im not sure how you can hook that up to the monitor as well as the tv at the same time but you might have to sacrifice and only record on one.
