I am looking for a 24ish in monitor to play xbox and pc games on?

Jaime

I do not know anything about computer monitors. Therefore i will not be disappointed with a lower quality monitor, however, i would like a quality monitor that will suit my needs. I am guessing i will need a normal quality monitor (nothing "gamer") but not anything junky. I really appreciate all of the help i could get. I am willing to spend up to 250 dollars including shipping. Links would be helpful. Thanks again!
The problem with slickdeals is that i do not know what monitor i want. anyone have any more ideas?

Answer
If you want to use the monitor on both Xbox and PC, make sure it has a variety of connections on the back. The Xbox 360 needs an HDMI connection, and your PC probably has DVI or VGA style connections. Also, make sure the monitor has at least a 1920 x 1080 resolution in order to get the "HD" resolution output from the Xbox 360.

I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out. Is there any way possible to make my laptop screen be a monitor for my desktop. I have a HP mini 110 (Laptop) it is awful to play games on it. I also have a Dell Desktop that is very suitable for gaming, but the Original monitor is being used for my xbox 360. Is there a way to make my laptop screen a monitor for my dell desktop? And how? Thank you!

Answer
No, laptops do not have video inputs, only video outputs. It can actually be done but it would involve disassembling the laptop and removing the LCD and inverter and using a bit of electrical engineering to modify a VGA cable to work with the inverter.

What do I need to make sure a monitor has so I can use it for my games consoles?

I want a new desktop PC and I want to be able to use the monitor for games consoles (XBox and Playstation2) as well as the PC. What do I need to make sure a monitor has so I can do that?

Answer
You need a quick refresh time. If you want to buy:
19 inch: the best ones are: Benq FP93GX, Samsung Syncmaster 960bf

If you also wanna watch movies you might wanna go for a 16:10 monitor. Good ones are Asus PG221 (21inch)
A really cheap one (only $260) in the 16:10 category is the Samsung Syncm. 205BW (20 inch)

Should I get a gaming monitor or a HDTV for my XBOX 360?

I've been using an SDTV 32 inch since my first console and I've been thinking about the quality and how fast consoles are turning to HD. Would it be worth those hundreds of pounds for a gaming monitor or HDTV, and if so, which one should I get?

Answer
Most of the HDTVs run at only 60hz frame rate no matter what the source. Gaming monitors might do better. But you won't get TV channels on them without a tuner box.
