Christophe

I need to know how to build a computer. I know pretty much nothing on this topic so I would need help a lot. Possible for me to buy the parts and if there is a place where I can have someone build it for me. I also need to know everything needed for a gaming computer. I would like to run games like Skyrim, World of Warcraft, and many other games like this. And just pretend like I have no price range, but keep in mind that I am a 15 year old.

Answer
I bought everything for mine off of Newegg.com and one or two things off of Amazon.com. I've heard of Tiger-Direct being a good place to buy from also.
Newegg has a section of computer hardware that is very helpful to find what you are looking for. They also have a series of videos on how to build a computer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw

Some examples of what you would need (there are many different prices so you just have to research what you want):
1) A case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

2) Memory (RAM) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231357

3) Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182084

4) Processor (CPU) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115095&Tpk=2700k

5) Graphics Card(s) (GPU) (I recommend only buying one because SLI and Crossfire tend to be choppy or not fully supported in many games). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130781 (This is like an ultimate graphics card that will run anything)

6) Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

7) Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188122

8) Mouse, keyboard, speakers, screen/monitor.

That makes up what you need inside the computer. Optional things to put inside include a better fan for your CPU, an SSD (Solid State Drive), or a wireless card to allow for wireless internet.

The power supply must have enough Watts for all of your parts which can be determined here: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

The motherboard should be considered the base of your computer. All parts must be compatible with it in order for the computer to work. Even the case must be able to hold it, and if you get a full sized tower (case) then it should be able to hold whatever you buy. When you buy the computer you have to read the motherboard instructions and determine where to plug in everything, and watching the Newegg videos will help with that.

what is the chepast way to build a gaming pc from scratch?

Evan

Hi I am thinking of building a gaming pc from scratch and I want to know what the best parts are and whats the cheapest parts I could get to build a gaming pc?

Answer
I will suggest you to go for i5 @2.6 GHz 4th Generation
4GB RAM 1600 MHz
500 GB HDD 7200 RPM
Nvidia GTX 550 at least or GTX 560 minimum for playing games at 1200 x 720 MAXOUT settings
19 Inch TFT (I still find it better than LED ) monitor 1440 x 900 Resolution
A Sony Combo dual layer DVD writer
A simple 3 tray cabinet for extra cooling
normal keyboard mouse
normal 2.1 speaker
550 W power supply (depending on what graphics card you installing)
A Genetic USB Gamepad like frontech JIL 1731 will do ( Use x360ce app to stimulate it as xbox 360 controller ) Can play almost all game (I Did played all till date , you can find proof on my youtube channel MrNeroYoung)

and company of RAM , HDD, Graphics card wont matter when building entry level gaming PC. Just compare few of manufacturers and get the best out of it in ratio of price and performance that suits you best.
Plus Minus you can make changes. It will cost around 35k-40k rupee in India which is aprox. 600 $ plus minus 50$.

If you want a laptop for gaming then got for HP Pavilion 15 n013tx, the best at it's price, around 733$

I want to make videos of my game on YouTube. I've noticed that a lot of people make it look like you're watching the actual screen the game is on. How do I do that? Please help.

Answer
Use either a DVD Recorder or DVR, hooked to game machine, putting their signal out to the monitor or TV

What is the best recording equipment for gaming?

Hannah

I want to start making gaming videos on YouTube but im not sure what equipment to use. I already have a good quality video camera for myself but i need a reasonably cheap camera that i can use to record the actual games i am playing. Does anyone know where i can get a good quality camera thats not too expensive and that is not just a camera on a tripod?

Answer
Are you doing PC or Xbox 360/PS3 gaming?

If PC, look up a program called fraps and use it to record your gameplay.

If Xbox 360 or PS3, You will need something called a Capture card and also a few things to get you going.

These are products you can buy so you can record your gameplay:

HD PVR 2: http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-Edition-Definition-Capture-Passthrough/dp/B008ZT8QKO

Fora little less, Roxio Game Capture: http://www.amazon.com/Roxio-Game-Capture-HD-PRO/dp/B008YTAGGW/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1374273652&sr=1-1&keywords=roxio+game+capture+hd+pro

You may need to also look up specific cables and connections if your playing with a HDTV or a monitor. Worse case, look up a tutorial for setting up the devices you need and keep track what cables and other products you may need to buy.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How do people upload videos from games to Youtube?

Mike

There are so many videos on Youtube & such sites that have video, gameplay/cinematics, and scenes from movies.
How do people transfer data from their XBOX, PS3, what-have-you to Youtube?
A XBOX360/PS3 Memory Unit? A Flashdrive? A link-cable? And what software do you need to upload the footage? Or do voice-over work?
Thanks all.

Answer
There are cables that connect your TV's video output (this only works on TVs with digital video out, usually though HDMI or DVI) to your PC's video input (also DVI or HDMI) which displays the image from the TV on the PC monitor. Then you can use something like Hypercam to record. There are also cords to use your PC screen instead of the TV.

As for PC games, you just need to use Hypercam.

For older consoles and handheld consoles which may not compatible with these cords, or to save a lot of effort, you simply download the emulator and illegally download the ROMs (games) and use Hypercam.

When recording gameplay videos and uploading them to youtube, does a screen resolution matter?

James Cann

I've seen some gaming laptop/desktop with HD screens. Does that really pop out a lot compared to a one with a screen thats not HD but with good resolution?

Answer
'HD' Screens typically mean the actual display itself is a 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor (or higher), nothing else. Since most youtube videos are actually uploaded at 720p or less because of video file sizes, what resolution you record it from will likely not matter because it's sized down. Unless you plan on recording 1080p videos you don't need a monitor with that high of a resolution. Do note that only very powerful systems can handle playing games while recording them simultaneously.

However, simply for viewing, higher resolution monitors can be nice and sharp but also tend to make things appear 'smaller' because there are more pixels on the screen in one area. If you plan on watching blu-ray discs on the monitor, you could go for the higher resolution. Just a thought.
