Are frames per second on a computer game relative to physical screen size or only resolution?

Im wondering if FPS will change depending on the physical size of the screen
i.e using a 42" tv vs a 20" monitor assuming same resolution

Answer
The physical screen size won't matter.

The FPS will go down if you increase the resolution, from 1024x768 to 1280x1024, for example.

I want to buy a HDTV 24 inch Monitor for PC?

I already know i want a 1080p/i capable monitor, 2m or 5m, but what else should i look for. Such as contrast ratio and refresh timing.

Answer
The higher the refresh rate and contrast ratio the better for movie and TV watching. You really have to go and look at a monitor before buying. Don't buy it completely on specs. Manufacturers play around with numbers.

1080i is not 1080p ... to get true 1080p you need a resolution of at least 1920 X 1080. Some monitors are capable of 1920 X 1200 which is better for computing and can give you 1080p as well of course.

The number one thing to look for is amount of colour. I bought an Acer and the colour seemed washed out. I ended up buying a Samsung to watch movies and TV on in the livingroom and using the Acer for my computer. I can still watch blueray movies on the computer, but the higher contrast ratio and more colour on the Samsung makes movies and TV look better. But the Samsung is really dark for evil games which are at night or dark. So the Acer is fine for computer games. You don't really need rich colours for that. It has a faster response time of 2ms vs 5ms which is great for games.

The connections on the back of the monitor are really important too. You want at least two HDMI connections, a DVI and a component connection.

Remember, your video card has to support HDCP to watch blueray movies. I use a DVI to HDMI converter on the back of my video card and an HDMI cable to connect to the 24" Acer monitor's HDMI input. It has no DVI in, only VGA for computer.

So the more variety of connections on the back of the monitor, contrast ratio and richness of colour are very important. The sharpness of picture and bleeding of light around the edges of the screen is the reason you have to view before you buy. Also cheap monitors bleed colour between objects.

The stand is also an issue. If the monitor is on a table that moves, you can't have a wobbily stand.

I just downloaded wwe vs raw from piratebay.org and I want to know how to move it to a disc that I can play in my wii
If I need to mod my wii what do i need to do?

Answer
Need to burn into DVD Disks, and then play on your wii. See:

You must have your Wii to be modified with a mod-chip before you play burned games or movies.
Of course it can play any game of your own, and any movie as you wish after you get your wii mod-chip installed!
It's a very mature technical now so it won't have problem if you get your wii modified.
Also you can download any PAL or NTSC Wii game as you wish online now.

About the downloading and backup and copy games service: There are serveral sites providing such download services. They are very excellent on the contents, not only Complete big Wii games like Metroid, LOR, American Idols and Guitar Heroes etc. But also many movies, Wii tv shows, music and videos much more!!!

All you need is to join one of those sites to download so many resources. So you can download all those media as you wish!

And some sites can provide simple software help you to burn the ISO Games into DVDs, it is very easy and fast. After the instructions by them, you can go ahead to play those games you burned onto your Wii.

Maybe a good review site to those download sites might help you very much on judging which is one is the best for you:

Good luck and have fun with your Wii!

Is it true that when you play playstation 3 games on a regular TV the graphics are really crappy?

Peter

I want to buy a Playstation 3, but I keep on hearing people saying that on a normal TV the graphics are similar PS2 graphics. I would like to know whether that's true. And are XBox 360 graphics better?

Thanx a lot.

Answer
The People are wrong. Yes, it will look crappy compared to a HD TV/Monitor, but it still has way better graphics than PS2. The problem with a normal TV is mainly the pixels and the resolution. With such big pixels, the picture builds up with rainbow colors because the pixels are so big. Multiple colors are stranded in one large pixel. With HD TV, the Res is much bigger, stretching the picture for widescreen effect. and the pixels are much smaller, so it looks a lot more cleaner.

So, if you want to play PS3 games right now without a HD TV, great. Just know you are not going to get as great graphics as you would on a HD. If you have a monitor, you can hook PS3 up to it. Make sure your monitor has a DVI cable in the back. If you do, great. Go to a local electronic sore and find a DVI to HDMI cable. Now you just need to worry about sound. I got wireless headphones that connect to my PS3 with Fiber Optics. That also give me true sound.

P.S.

PS3 over Xbox (graphics provided as well):

1. Free internet use (Xbox you have to pay for live...)
2. Online store ( lots of games, demos, movies and more to download.)
3. Blu-Ray (Xbox got screwed with their HD DVD)
4. Built-in Wierless internet (You have to buy an adapter for Xbox)
5. Can have multible OS (Ubuntu 8.0!)
6. Qore: Like IGN for PS3 (I use it for latest update for games and Beta releases)
7. PS3 Home. Interactive Sim ( not out yet, but it will be sick. You can build your own house, and play tons of games with your friends. There will we a lot of features for PS3 Home.)
8. Metal Gear 4 ( Best story line ever!)
9. SOCOM: Confrontation (Best online game ever!)
10. Web Cam for PS3 for chat use (Use cam with friends and chat away. It also has built-in audio)
11. Can use Keyboard and Mouse for PS3 (use to browes the web and chat durring games. also can use for your other OS)
12. Web Browser (Xbox does not have one)
13. Light controller taht fit right in your hands (Love it because they charge fast and they are sooo light!)
14. Media (can use most memory cards to transfer files) SD CARD
15. External HDD with FAT32 (Has to be FAT32 I am afraid . But works)
16. Backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 if you dont get 40GB

and much more!

Graphics:
PS3 and Xbox: Same graphics
Wii: Crappy graphics

Wii and PS3 have movement control. For PS3, you can move your controller around to interact with some games. I use it for Ghost Recon. When I get into fire, I jolt my controller forward making my guy slide to the ground for cover. Also Warhak, you can control flight by moving controller.
