Does the Sony 3d display still have problems? Good ps3 gaming monitor?

Travis

Im looking into getting a monitor and the Sony display is one of the cheapest. I read that it has alot of problems with the screen going black and the RLOD. Has sony fixed these issues or are they only so cheap because of the issues? Also can anyone recommend a good gaming monitor for the PS3?

Answer
I'm not aware of any problem with the 3-d monitor , but it has a one year warranty if something breaks and 3-D is relatively new technology so it won't be perfect yet anyway . I think the 3-d monitor is cheap because nobody buys them , everyone wants a bigger screen and an actual hdtv .
Best thing you could buy is a plasma tv , even a cheaper 720p model in 40 inches or smaller is good and pretty inexpensive .
Plasma is best for gaming because it's a faster refresh rate and has a brighter picture and more dynamic contrast than led or lcd - 12 times faster than lcd and 4 to 6 times faster than led ( faster means graphics look crisper and little or no pixelation , slower means pixelated graphics that lag or have slowdown )
stay away from an lcd screen , get a plasma or led - lcd is suitable for watching tv only or maybe a wii console
I'd recommend a samsung , panasonic or lg plasma hdtv of around 40 inches ( prices range from $250-$350 ) - they have warranties ranging from 1 to 3 years
that'll give you a great tv for gaming , movies and general tv viewing - a monitor is only usable for a game system or pc .

pc game on two monitors?

Patrick

I have two monitor on my gaming pc. Whenever I start playing a game it loads it on the right side monitor. I want to move it to the one on the left because is is bigger but I am unable to figure out how. Any advice would be welcome.

Answer
Graphics card?

If using nVidia you can open the nVidia Control Panel and under 3D setting you can select which monitor you want select programs to load to.
To get to nVidia Control Panel just right click anywhere on your desktop and it should be on the menu.

Other things you can do is go to Start Menu, click Control Panel, Display, and change your primary monitor being that games by default load to the primary.

Some games have this option in their GameNameConfig.exe file

A good gaming monitor for someone on a budget?

Carson

I need a gaming monitor and I have found an excellent 'BenQ' monitor. However, it was out of my budget, around $300. My desk isn't the biggest so it would be nice if it is smaller. The price range im hoping to get one for is around $150, if they have a decent gaming one for that price. Thank you!

I use Sony Playstation 3D display. I play PS3 and my pc games on it all the time. It's also good for watching movies. It also works with Cable TV. It comes with 3D glasses and a ps3 game. Not sure if that's what you're looking for. It's a 24" display with full HD and I think that the price is around 200 or so. I got it last year on a sale for 100 and I like it. If you don't have a ps3, you could sell the game and glasses. Hope I helped

What is the best monitor on the market for FPS gaming?

Parker

I am looking for a new monitor for my PC Gaming rig. I only play FPS games.

What is "THE BEST" monitor on the market at the moment for gaming that will deliver the maximum frame rate? (My computer can play games over 100fps, but I just need a monitor that can deliver more than 60fps for me to enjoy it to the max)

Anyone know of the best?

Answer
welll.. define "The Best"

by my standards (and your not gonna like this) the BEST display would be:
NEC PA301W 30" IPS 2560x1600 monitor. for the best experiences you'l need 3 of them.
99% perfect color reproduction
excellent contract
14 bit 3D color dictionary (some 1.3 billion colors)
it supports 3D display
industry standard for graphics, video, and game designers.
its um, $2300 each, and 3 of them would be... $6900. and since its obviously extremely valuable, shipping would be like $400 ($200 to ship + $200 in insurance)

you'll need dual-link DVI -out or you'll have trouble enjoying this top-quality monitor.
this is as close as you can get to an Apple computer's display, which is the best there is.

MaximumPC's Dream Machine 2011 utilized 3 of the best monitors in the world.

they also had three nVidia GTX 580's to back i up, I seriously doubt anything less can actually handle so many pixels. at 4800x2560 most graphics cards will be struggling to produce even 5 FPS.
