does this pc come with a monitor?

Q. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8772768&type=product&id=1204331806567

Answer
Unlikely I would say you would need to purchase the monitor seperately.

Consider the Asus PG191 Gaming Monitor as an option http://www.trustedreviews.com/displays/review/2006/07/25/Asus-PG191-Gaming-Monitor/p1

what is your opinion on skyrim for pc?

Haters Uni

i want to buy the game soon ...... so what do you think about it
REVIEWS!!!!

Answer
If u have a decent PC, then the PC version is by far the best for this game.

There are several reasons for this...

First of course is performance and graphics.

Then on the PC u have access to the command console. This allows u to bypass bugs and glitches easily that would ruin the game on a console. U can also manipulate various aspects of the game (such as command nice weather or make the player character fly, go through walls and terrain, etc). U can also cheat with the command console if u want (like to add gold or other items, advance levels or perks artificially, etc).

Then maybe the most valuable perk of having the game on the PC is the mods. Already there are countless mods for Skyrim. And next month when the construction set (creation kit) for Skyrim becomes available, there will be hordes of mods. And u can make your own mods as well. This will keep the PC version of the game alive long after console players have gotten bored with it.

Some of the previous arguments against PC gaming that I have heard are now moot. Such as playing on a big screen...All new HD TVs can be used as a computer monitor. Or the game controller...Even the PS3 and Xbox360 controllers now can be used on a PC (with software such as Xpadder) with the exact same gameplay as the consoles have.

U will definitely get more bang for your buck by getting the PC version.

What is the best monitor on the market for FPS gaming?

Parker

I am looking for a new monitor for my PC Gaming rig. I only play FPS games.

What is "THE BEST" monitor on the market at the moment for gaming that will deliver the maximum frame rate? (My computer can play games over 100fps, but I just need a monitor that can deliver more than 60fps for me to enjoy it to the max)

Anyone know of the best?

Answer
welll.. define "The Best"

by my standards (and your not gonna like this) the BEST display would be:
NEC PA301W 30" IPS 2560x1600 monitor. for the best experiences you'l need 3 of them.
99% perfect color reproduction
excellent contract
14 bit 3D color dictionary (some 1.3 billion colors)
it supports 3D display
industry standard for graphics, video, and game designers.
its um, $2300 each, and 3 of them would be... $6900. and since its obviously extremely valuable, shipping would be like $400 ($200 to ship + $200 in insurance)

you'll need dual-link DVI -out or you'll have trouble enjoying this top-quality monitor.
this is as close as you can get to an Apple computer's display, which is the best there is.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4196/nec-pa301w-review-the-baddest-30-inch-display

MaximumPC's Dream Machine 2011 utilized 3 of the best monitors in the world.
http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/dream_machine_2011_how_we_created_best_pc_ever
they also had three nVidia GTX 580's to back i up, I seriously doubt anything less can actually handle so many pixels. at 4800x2560 most graphics cards will be struggling to produce even 5 FPS.

How to record voice while playing xbox 360 games?

Reaper

I want to record my voice while i am playing offline because i want to do game reviews and stuff while i am playing the game, i dont want to record the video then the audio on my computer. I want to be able to hear my voice while i play the game. is that possible?
I dont want to record them seperatey. i want to record me playing and talking at the same time.
Oh ok yeah i can do that, is there any way to record the tv with my laptop or anything? can i plug an HDMI and show the video and sound on my computer?

Answer
As far as I know, you can't record your voice through a capture device while you play, surprisingly they don't have this functionality. How I do it, is I play the game on the xbox, recording using my hdpvr, and while I play talk in a headset connected to my pc, using adobe soundbooth. Once I've done, I edit the voice file a bit, get rid of coughing, background noises and all the rest of it. Then just edit the two together in a video editing program (in my case Adobe Premier) The easiest way to match it up, is immediately start talking as soon as you see the title screen or the game loads, or something, just pick a point in the game. This gives you an easy reference when editing to match it up.

To actually record the gameplay, you need to use a capture device such as an Happauge, HDPVR, Roxio Game Capture, or Elgato Game Capture HD. The HDMI port on your laptop, is HDMI out, meaning it's to plug your laptop in to a monitor. It's not designed to take sources in to the laptop. You can find more information, on the capture devices on Amazon. Roxio game capture is the cheapest of the 3 I mentioned, but also the worst quality.

For proper game reviews though, you're much better off recording separately, , then writing a bit of a review, or if you want to do a bit of improv, at least write points down that you want to talk about, then talk over your final edit, especially if you want be critical, and make good reviews. This way you can make far clearer, concise points, and also show issues, and bugs that you might have come across in the games and talk about them.

I usually do a bit of both write a review, then improv over parts of it. Personally, I mainly do reviews than let;s play videos. They never come out that well for me. I do a much better job at reviewing games.

I've been doing some research and the asus ms328h and asus vw246h have gotten the best reviews. I was wondering what people thought about these two monitors and if there are any others that I overlooked. I'm looking for a 1080p monitor that is at least 23 inches. I would mainly just play halo on it.

Answer
I use my HP 2509m to play PC and 360.

If you wait you can get it at woot.com for $205. It's 25". I have the debranded (cheaper) version.

What is the cheapest rig I could build to run games on at least medium settings?

Damon

I'm looking to build a computer, but I have a very tight budget. I want to run games like Battlefield 3, DayZ standalone (when it comes out), and many other games on at least medium settings with 40+ fps. So I'm looking for the cheapest build I could go with. (Hardware specs, games I could run, FPS on those games, and price would be all I'm looking for). Thanks.
Edit:
I do NOT want a console, because I can't play the games I want on it, and I already have a PS3.

Answer
If you shop deals and are talking absolute MINIMUM cost you could do it for under $400 (not including monitor/keyboard/mouse etc)

For example,
This: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1053360
Plus:
$30 for RAM
$60 for HDD
$80-120 for 7750HD or 7770HD

FPS benchmarks for BF3:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7770-7750-benchmark,3135-6.html

Also, if you have another PC you could canabalize, you could save quite a bit of coin there as well.

A better question would be what is your price limit? Because I've found that spending a litte more money now on parts that allow better future upgrades can save a lot of money down the road when some awesome new game comes out that your dirt-cheap build can't handle.

I bought a wii and it just sits here because we don't know anything about it. Can someone tell me how to hook it up to my pc/internet. Also, how can I download games and play them on the wii. And is there anything else that I can do with my wii, besides just playing store-bought games.

Answer
You must to make your Wii to be modified with a mod-chip before you play games or movies.
Of course it can play any game of your own, and any movie (also DivX as you asked) as you wish after you get your wii mod-chip installed!

It's a very mature technical now so it won't have problem if you get your wii modified.

Also you can download any PAL or NTSC Wii game as you wish online now.

About the downloading and backup and copy games service: There are serveral sites providing such download services. They are very excellent on the contents, not only Complete big Wii games like Metroid, LOR, American Idols and Guitar Heroes etc. But also many movies, Wii tv shows, music and videos much more!!!

All you need is to join one of those sites to download so many resources. So you can download all those media as you wish!

And some sites can provide simple software help you to burn the ISO Games into DVDs, it is very easy and fast. After the instructions by them, you can go ahead to play those games you burned onto your Wii.

Maybe a good review site to those download sites might help you very much on judging which is one is the best for you:

Good luck and have fun with your Wii!

Help me choose the best parts to build a computer build?

Dominik

Lately I have been thinking about building a computer rig. I decided to use a forum post to do so.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
Programming. - Visual Studio 2012, Microsoft Office 2012, Compiling, Graphics, Adobe Master's Collection ( Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks ). Very very little gaming will be done. This rig is not intended to be a gaming rig.

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM / sellers? If not- why?
Yes

3. What is your MAX budget?
3000 dollars

4. Planning to overclock?
Maybe. I heard that overclocking on processors wear them down. Don't know if it's good to overclock.

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
Windows 7 Professional

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
2 TB

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
Screen resolution: 2560 x 1440 WQHD, 27 inch

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
8

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Done by an assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
3 week

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
No

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
i3 and i5 processors

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
USA and want to buy parts in the USA

Answer
$3000 is beyond overkill for such a machine. However, it sounds like this is a business machine and therefore I suggest you buy a business class workstation from a Tier 1 manufacturer because you don't want to be troubleshooting stuff by yourself while your money-making computer is down. you want to call someone and have them send the replacement part overnight.

If you insist on building, i'd suggest nix327's build from here

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/toms-hardware-bestconfigs-build-a-pc,3453-3.html

but replace the i3 with an i7-3770 (not the K version since you won't be overclocking) and upgrade the 64GB SSD to the 256GB Samsung 840 in the other build. You'll still be well below $1000 so invest in a nice monitor, maybe one of the 27" 1440p models since I know developers like their real estate space. The onboard GPU in the i7 is more than enough to power that resolution for software development and the occasional flash based game.
