What do i do when i have an error playing empire total war?

2 days ago, i just purchased Empire Total War for 50.00 at GameStop. I installed the game with now problem. I have Windows XP with Service Pack 2, i have the right processor, i have enough memory, but im not sure about the video card. Then, when I tried to play, it said, Empire.exe has experienced and error. Is it a bug? Do i have to update anything?

ok try this :

1-go to start then run then type dxdiag then press ok

2-go to Display tap and u can check ur video card details and if its compatible or not, if its not then u have to upgrade it

3-if its compatible then make sure ur WIN and drivers ar up to date

4-scan ur PC for viruses

5-run registry scan (its very important,it will fix many problems) ,u can do that on many sites for free or u can download this software which is good and free i use it my self:

6-install the game like this:
double click on my Computer then right click on the DVD-ROM icon(the one has the game picture),then Explore ,then locate the file name setup.exe OR something.exe. and double click on it to start installation wizard

7-DON'T up date to the latest patch for the game UNLESS from the official website

8-download Game Booster it will help u free more memory by closing unneeded programs i use it as well its good and free use this link to get it :

How can I run Empire total war on a mac?

I just bought Empire total war and wanted to try using it on my mac with crossover games and when i tried to got a installer script error. Is there another program like it I can run or do I have to run vm ware and buy windows.

If your Mac runs on the Leopard operating system then you should have this thing installed called Boot Camp.

Boot Camp is the program that allows you to run Windows XP or Windows Vista on your mac. This will also allow you to switch between Windows and Mac Leopard when you turn your computer on.

Once you've installed Vista or XP, then you can now run or play Windows games and programs on your MacBook.

And since Empire Total War is for Windows, then you should already be able to run it on your Mac once you've switched it to Windows Mode. :)
