best gaming computer ever 2013 image
Q. e.g., look how good the graphics are for a game like Crysis 2. These are rendered on hardware that was nearly outdated in 2005. You could imagine the potential of similar hardware in 2011. Or would it even make a difference?
What will make the next generation of gaming distinctive from the current?
In the past, the answer to this question was easy: GRAPHICS.

Answer
PC graphics can continue to march forward with ever more impressive hardware optimizations, higher resolutions, better physics, etc. However consoles are going to have a much tougher time of it. Sure with this generation we saw the jump to HD, or at least 720p@30fps. However the next batch of consoles should have no problem with 1080p@60fps which is the maximum any HDTV is capable of producing. Even 3D won't be a problem for these consoles - if they decide to support it.
Really the only direction left is better physics, and better textures. However these are going to seem more like minor bumps vs. the huge leaps we've been used to. It might also mean consoles will come out less frequently - no need to upgrade as frequently.
The 360, for instance, will turn 7 later this year and while Microsoft is working on a new console we probably won't see it on shelves until 2013 at the earliest - nearly 9 years after the 360 came out.

How can I get my son (18) checked for aspergers? Is he too old for any help?
Ally
We always knew he was different, he displays some but not all of the common symptons but we just put it down to him being different and an introvert. We are getting increasingly worried because apart from the virtual world of computer games he is turning into a hermit. He doesn't have any interests apart from music no one else has ever heard of and has no social skills. Any advice please?
Answer
Get your son to do the online test for asperger syndrome (see internet address below for Aspie-quiz.php)
If the test result says he probably has asperger syndrome, join the largest asperger syndrome community website Wrong Planet which has over 70,000 members (see internet address below for wrongplanet.net) It caters for people with aspergers syndrome, and for people who have an interest in aspergers syndrome, such relatives, friends, and carers of people with asperger syndrome, and professionals engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of people with asperger syndrome, so both of will be warmly welcomed as new members if you join.
If the test result says your son has aspergers syndrome then, from your description of some of his traits, I think he has some extreme ones, and might find better friendships and advice by visiting a website that caters for a somewhat more extreme traited group, and I would suggest the aspies for freedom website for this (see internet address below for aspiesforfreedom.com)
You'll find some informative articles in Wikipedia about aspergers syndrome, beginning with one on savant syndrome, then one on hans asperger, and finally one on history of asperger syndrome. I've listed their internet addresses in that order in the Wikipedia set below. A couple of points of interest - it was first called savant syndrome, but people with it were called idiot savants in 1887, though the word idiot didn't have as strong a meaning as it does nowadays. The condition was clarified in 1922, but given the name autistic psychopathy, but people with it got called autistic psychopaths, which was worse than being called idiot savant. I would have preferred if the condition had been given the name Sukhareva Syndrome rather than Asperger Syndrome, because I think Sukhareva contributed more to the science of it than Asperger did (I think Asperger only wrote his paper to save himself and his family from the Nazi Death Camps and couldn't care less for anyone else). And finally, the APA plan to drop the label Asperger Syndrome and its diagnosis from their 'Bible', the Diagnostic and Statistal Manual of Mental Disorders this coming May (2013) as it has been so controversial since being given that name officially (by UN WHO ICD in 1992 and by APA DSM in 1994)
