Answer
Asheron's Call: Thousands of players inhabit a beautiful 3D fantasy world to make friends and seek out perilous adventure. Customize your alter ego with a unique appearance and balance of heroic skills, then enter a magical frontier of terrible monsters, breathtaking vistas, and fast alliances. With over 500 square miles that offer ever more wonders to explore, Asheron's Call gives you a world of unparalleled scope and freedom, the richest setting yet for creating your personal saga or joining your friends in an epic campaign.

City of Heroes: City of Heroes . City of Tomorrow . Since 1931, when a prodigal son returned with the powers of an ancient god and called himself Statesman, Paragon City has been the center of the super-powered hero universe. Through the efforts of Statesman and those who joined him in the war against tyranny and crime, Paragon City truly became a beacon and inspiration for heroes world-wide. A true city of heroes. Confront super villains, aliens, madmen, criminals, and other fearsome foes. Take on personalized missions and rid the city of several different evil organizations and hundreds of individual enemies. Explore the skyscrapers, slums, sewers and streets of Paragon City, a sprawling online metropolis that offers unlimited adventures and countless surprises.

Dark Age of Camelot: There exist three warring nations in Dark Age of Camelot: Albion, Hibernia, and Midgard. Players can choose to align themselves with a particular realm. Some servers even allow you to play all three, though traditional servers restrict players to one. Since the death of Arthur, the three realms of Camelot have been at war over each other's relics. Players can participate in battles ranging from single players to well over 100 players.

DragonRealms: A stormy realm of enchantment awaits you! DragonRealms is a high fantasy roleplaying game that features a vast and detailed world to explore, amazing creatures to meet and fight, and a wide variety of professions and races to build your character from!. DragonRealms is a complex, in-depth game that may seem a little overwhelming at first, but we make every effort to get you settled in comfortably and quickly on your way to glory, loot and fame!

Eve: EVE takes place in a cluster of stars far from mankindâs original habitat, planet Earth. How far away, and whether or not that cradle of civilization still exists, is a mystery. Humans arrived through a natural wormhole and, gazing up upon an alien sky they had never seen, were completely unable to determine where this new world was located. From the New Eden solar system, where the gate of EVE once led to the old world, humans expanded in all directions at a furious pace, exploring and colonizing rapidly. Then, unexpectedly and seemingly unprovoked, the EVE gate collapsed in an apocalyptic catastrophe of a scale never before witnessed by the human race, ruining the New Eden system in the process. Thousands of small colonies were left in complete isolation to fend for themselves, cut off from the old world. For millennia they endured, clinging to the brink of extinction, and only a handful managed to survive.

EverQuest: EverQuest offers dozens of different race and class combinations, which is perhaps the most enticing feature in the game. You can play a comparatively mundane fantasy character - a dwarf warrior or a human cleric, for instance - or you can choose something more exotic, like a dark elf necromancer or a troll shadowknight. The race you choose will critically affect your experience of the game, since most every race has a unique hometown, which you'll have to stick close to for the first several weeks of play. The class you choose is just as important, and all of them play differently, and most of them are fun.

GemStone: Adventure at your fingertips! Come to Elanthia, where you can explore a vast and detailed world over a decade in the making, triumph over ferocious monsters, cast hundreds of spells, and choose from a wide variety of professions and races to build your character from! GemStone IV is a MUD-style fantasy role-playing game set in a medieval world of magic where you can meet friends, find romance or take on ferocious foes with your fellows.

Guild Wars: Gather unique rewards as you play a key figure in the Battle of Jahai and go up against Palawa Joko and his undead army. Experience Cantha's turbulent past when you bear witness to events in the violent Tengu Wars. Learn firsthand how the White Mantle rose to power in Kryta. And, finally, discover what became of Gwen after the Charr invaded her home, and the Searing destroyed everything she'd ever known.

Phantasy Star: Phantasy Star occurs in Space Century 342 and takes place in the three planet Algol Star System. Your journey begins in the city of Camineet on Palma. Eventually, you'll travel through space to reach Motavia and Dezoris. King Lassic has turned into an evil tyrant and unleashed monsters throughout the system. Like his father before him, Nero was killed while trying to learn Lassic's evil secrets. You play the part of Alis, Nero's sister, taking on his quest with only a short sword and the name of a brave hunter, Odin, who is sympathetic to your quest. If you want to play the definitive traditional RPG, then look no further than Phantasy Star. It may be long and tedious by today's standards, but it was state-of-the-art in 1988. It has great graphics, pseudo-3D dungeons, a decent storyline, and endless turn-based battles on three worlds.

PlanetSide:

PlanetSide is the worldâs first massively multiplayer online first-person action game. The size and scope of PlanetSide is beyond anything ever experienced, with thousands of players battling across a vast game world in a raging war, 24 hours a day. PlanetSide takes squad-based combat to the next level. Choose your allegiance and enlist in the army of one of three unique empires in the fight for total domination. Join your friends online and form a squad as you experience action like youâve never seen before, with massive battles and a wide variety of vehicles to pilot and drive. Ultima: a game of many facets, with a ton of content to keep you occupied for many years to come. What kind of computer can I play Minecraft on and install mods without getting viruses?

Katie

I want to play the computer version of Minecraft VERY badly, but my Dad and I are afraid it will give his computer a virus. His computer is the only computer I use in my house and he's very protective with it. Also, there's a mod I want to try out on the game. Is there a computer I can buy that I can download Minecraft onto and install mods without getting a virus?

Answer
Hi there Katie,

Short Response: No, there's no computer that is always virus free, but Minecraft is.

Longer Response: First, I'd like to talk to you a little about the basics of a computers and viruses. Computers all have what we call an operating system, this is what you see when you boot your computer, the operating system loading. It's the main difference between Apple and PC's. Otherwise with out this operating system you have nothing but a lot of part and metal. The other important part is that you have what is called a hard drive. A hard drive is basically where you store all your data, where everything is saved. When you go on to the web, you are at risk of getting a virus or becoming subjugated to other malicious attacks. This is the nature of the beast because all computers have hard drives that can be infected. However, it is very unlikely that you get a virus from just surfing the web. Where people really get in trouble is when they download items like Minecraft onto there computer. Remember your hard drive is where everything is saved so when you download Minecraft that's where it will go. Anything with a virus can then attack everything thats on your computer and even your operating system cussing your computer fatal damage because like we have established previously, a operating system is where is put together and displayed for you. Without you would be looking at a black screen which is what some viruses can do. They can also steal info and phish all your e-mails and online transactions. Having said all this there is NO computer on earth that is 100% guaranteed to not get a virus unless you never download anything or connect to the web. However, Minecraft is a safe download. Millions of people can confirm. You have nothing to worry about as long as you download Minecraft from its creators website, Minecraft.net. You'll also notice that Minecrafts website has an encrypted HTTPS website so putting you info in should be safe. Mods can be dangerous. Make sure that you download mods that are popular and have alot of downloads. Also I would stick to planetminecraft and minecraftforums to download mods from. Those two should be fairly safe especially if they have alot of downloads. There are a couple of things you can do to keep your computer extra safe if you are very nervous about its being. Install a security sweet. There are lots of great ones out there. Overall, there is NO danger in downloading minecraft from its source, but mods could be potentially dangerous because they too have access to you hardrive to a certain extent. If your dad is still not sure have him read this and if he wants send me a couple of messages with any questions. Also if you're looking to buy a computer that can run minecraft, you shouldn't have to spend more than 300$. Check out Best Buys website, Microcenter, or whatever you prefer. Just look for a good processor as thats what minecraft mainly relies on and preferably 4 GB of ram.
Best Wishes Max
