is this a good computer tower for gaming?

David

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POWERFUL-HP-Desktop-PC-Tower-Computer-2x-3-0Ghz-4GB-RAM-160GB-DVDRW-Fast-Small-/110829205010?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item19cdef7612#ht_4844wt_1056 And i will add a 1gb graphics card, will it be able to run games like fifa 12, bf3, mw3? If not could you find me a better one for the same sort of price? Thanks

Answer
Gaming is quite simply a no.
A look through the components:

Pentium 4 HT - 3.0Ghz - CPU
The processor is a 2005 processor, while gaming is not the most processing intensive activity it does require at a good processor, normally Core Quad or better.

RAM - 4GB
The RAM is average for a desktop computer, I'd recommend 8GB or more if you want it to run games fast without running out of memory.

Hard Drive - 160GB
Okay, the hard drive is pretty small most games take up around 5-10GB of space maybe more or less depending on the game type and year. Some will also be taken up by the OS and other software you want to install.

DVD-RW Drive
Nothing wrong with that.

And a few notes, its running a 32 bit OS meaning you'll only be able to use 3.5GB of the 4GB of RAM.

Adding a 1GB graphics card will boost the graphics, but it won't be able to make up for the slow speed of the processor or the fact that you'll run out of memory if you install a few games.

At the price your looking at most computers won't be able to play games, if your looking to play games your better off looking at new computers in a PC store the ones on eBay at that price are going to be old machines not gaming computers.

I have a sims game in my computer tower at the moment, & my computer tower won't turn on. So, how would it be possible to get the disc out without having to rip my computer to pieces?

Answer
There's a pin sized hole right under the cd tray, use a pin like object and push it in the little hole. At first the cd tray may only come out a little. If that's the case just do it again. What you're doing is manually turning the gears to open they tray. It may also open all the way on the first try! You'll have you disc back right away, no fears!

Does your computer monitor affect your graphics?

Q. I want to purchase just a gaming computer tower. Will my LCD screen atm affect the graphics displayed on the screen?

Yes or No?

P.S is it possible to buy a dell XPS tower with out the monitor.

Answer
Yes to both questions. An older monitor may not have as high of a resolution rate or may take a small amount of time longer to load then a newer one. If you have a nice LCD that you purchased within the last couple of years though you should be fine! It is possible to purchase a computer without the monitor although sometimes computer manufacturers will give generous discounts on bundled packages.

Read your specs (higher numbers lower prices the better)and stay within your budget and you should be very happy with your purchase! :)

Danny

Im looking for a new gaming computer no monitor just a tower to buy. but i have seen some computers on newegg.com where that had quad processors 4gb memory and a 500gb hardive but with a 6150 graphics card. But i have seen a computer with the same memory but a dual processor 9500 graphics card. Which is better and why?

Answer
Hi

If the quad processor is Intel Q series, or AMD's Phenom II series, then go with the quad machine and then buy an additonal Video card (nvidia 9600GT, 9800GT, ATI Radeon 4650 HD, 4850HD) to put in the PC.

the Nvidia 6150 is not a graphics card, its a intergrated Chip on the motherboard, that can just support displays.

If the Quad processor is not listed in what I mentioned above, then get the Dual Core PC.

It would be very helpful if you provided links to those computers, or post the PC Specifics of each PC.

Hope that Helps.

Is it possible to hook up a computer tower to a laptop?

Q. I have an alright laptop (only 2.3 GHz) which doesn't allow me to play my games that I want, that are coming out soon. So I came up with the idea to build a "beast" computer tower with a better graphics card and such. Now, is there a way to hook a computer tower to a laptop only to use the laptop as a monitor? My computer has a 1920 x 1080 screen, so I thought it would act like a great monitor.

Answer
Your plugging a computer into another computer...Yeah I don't think thats the way to go, just buy a screen for the tower. Use that tower for games and storage, and use your laptop for personal things. If its crappy, but portable then it should be your main one if your on the go or a student. I'm sure you can do it but why would you want to? quit being cheap and just get a screen
