I have a small flat screen tv (about the size of a regular computer moniter) and I have a Mac ccomputer

Without exact detail specifics generally a Pc or mac, will use more, but as I said it depends on use.A typical pc or mac will have idle wattage, and when in use depending on chipset, gpu ,etc will have a much higher full watt rating,a Tv has stand by and when its playing at max use is obviously much higher.The mac will almost definitely use more electricity,but exact useage wattage and voltage ,can be found online, or from the manuals for your specific product.For example I have an Alienware M18X with dual Gpu in sli dual ssds high performance cpu etc and it takes 330 watts at full use and 110 at idle.So my Tv is more unless Im playing a game on my laptop.Subjective ratings.

What would be the best monitor to buy if I was looking to run both my xbox and tower PC from HDMI?

I want to buy a screen that is high quality and affordable. I have a 360, but I'm planning to buy a gaming computer pretty soon. I'd like a larger screen, should I buy a high end monitor, or step it up to a small flat screen TV. price isn't too much of a problem, but I'm not willing to spend much more than 400, 500 if I REALLLLLY must.
