I think I'm going to play Diablo III when it comes out, where is a good computer to play it on, and how much will it cost? I know Diablo III isn't out yet, but I know it will need a lot of requirements because its a huge game.
Desktop and or laptop.
Answer
Get at least a dual-core processor (quad-core recommended), with 3 GB RAM (4-6GB recommended), SSD for OS (40GB would suffice) and 500GB of HDD (1TB if you need and/or can afford), ATI 5770/5870 or nVidia GT275/285, 22" widescreen LCD monitor and a decent logitech keyboard/mouse. To run diablo 3, which you're not going to be until perhaps 3rd quarter of 2011, you'll require a robust PC, but not necessarily an expensive one. $850 should fetch you a good gaming PC, whereas top-of-the-line models will cost more.

Can I dual monitor with one computer to play 2different games?
Austin
So my brother and I bought a nice computer a bit ago but we want to play the same games together so I am wondering if I can add another monitor/keyboard and mouse if we can play something like sc2 at the same time??? Thank you
Answer
Depends upon how many cores in processor, or if multi-threading, or if you have the speed and processing power to do a high frame rate with two games running.
Dual screens are easy. What is hard is separate keyboard and mouse inputs from two people. There might be a software solution. http://www.userful.com/products/downloads/free-2-user is one, but for Linux OS only. Don't know if the games you wish to run will work in that OS.
Doesn't look good for a Windows machine. http://facepunch.com/threads/1010461 refers to a dead forum thread.
"Thats designed purely for splitscreen, if you want to launch two copies of a game, youll need the auto window manager, and force both copies of the game to be focus together. if you want to launch two source games, youll need procexp(?). Open it, find the hl2 executable on the left, then scroll down at the bottom until you find the hl2_singleton mutex, and close the handle to it. I dont really recommend doing that online! "
"Your answer lies with Thin Clients. Game is run off one server computer... then it's transfered to each thin client which is basically a monitor."
(I have no experience in Thin Clients at all, never heard of them that I remember)
http://superuser.com/questions/378901/two-instances-of-one-computer discusses it but doubtful about simultaneous users, more likely taking turns only.
http://www.astahost.com/info/ttfitf-dual-monitors-computers.html says:
"Microsoft solution is designed specifically for this purpose is called Windows Multipoint Server 2011. I haven't tried it yet because I don't want to change my OS but still I have this option available to me."
http://technet.microsoft.com/library/gg609207.aspx for Windows Multipoint Server 2011.
