Liam
Im looking for the cheapest but still good gaming computer.
Im looking for a laptop
Answer
grr hate laptops for gaming, it's like buying buick for racing, but anyways look only at ASUS and Acer for the best price/performance ratio, others are either worse or too expensive

I need guidance on building a gaming computer?
Grant
I want to build a nice but not over the top gaming computer capable of playing any game on the market on high quality. But, I have no idea where to start. Is there a website I can look at?
Answer
simple to do:
buy either an i5-2500k intel chip with compatible board (look at chipset) or a fx-6100 amd and board (both are great for gaming and pretty reasonable). Giving options for intel and AMD people here. cpu+mobo- intel $380ish AMD- $230ish.
buy a 700w 80+ OCZ power supply. These are great and pretty darn cheap right now. a 700w for $50. can't beat it.
6850 AMD video card. This is the sweet spot for bang for your buck and can play anything. about $130
8-16gb ram. just look at the clock speed acceptable for the board you choose. i.e. DDR3 10600 speed. $50-$100
hard drive- get a 120gb SSD- trust me.. you'll be happy. get a 1tb as well for storage. $120+$120
get a case that fits the board- i.e. full atx, mid atx etc....$60?
dvd drive- nothing special about these. $20
a coolermaster V6 heat sync and fan- this thing is the size of a softball. its huge- and keep the cpu cool and its pretty quiet.
You could build the above for $660 for the lowest I spec'ed- to $860ish.
