gaming monitor 5ms vs 2ms image
vicdamon25
they both are on newegg for about 300 dollars, which of the two will be better for gaming?
Answer
I vote for the Acer. It has the standard resolution that most games support (1920x1200) vs. the Asus that uses the new 1920x1080 which is designed for multimedia purposes (1080p video).
The Asus does have a better response time (2ms vs. 5ms) and a higher contrast ratio (20,000:1 vs. 3,000:1), but I think that the resolution may be a dealbreaker because I am not sure how well supported the 1920x1080 resolution is in games.
I have a 26" Acer at work and it is a very good monitor.

It seems that you can get the Acer for $250 at Ofiice Depot.

I am a pc gamer so which one is best ?
Answer
You mean:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AZMLIDQ/
Acer at Amazon for $170
IPS is good. 1080P is good. 5ms is good. 250 nits is good. Acer is OK, 23" is OK. digital and analog inputs is good. should be LED backlit and cables are included. This one is good.
The LG is practically identical.
Samsung is a new release, priced the same at Newegg.
A little bit bigger screen. Still 5ms. Looks decent, but nothing special.
Probably the Acer is the best of the three when bought cheap at Amazon.
Plenty of options for faster screen response in gaming. The IPS gets you the clarity when moving your head in motion and is a decent choice at 5ms.
Option is to go to 1 or 2 ms in a 23.6 to 24"

Plenty of good options.
How about this:

24" Asus. Popular and spec'ed well
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236153
That is the close call.
VS247HP and VS248HP both OK
Add: Your choices should be a 5ms IPS or 2ms TFT
That is almost flip a coin.
IPS is better at angles, and a little truer color.
You can get the slightly larger screen in a faster GTG response time for about the same price.
some people swear by IPS only and never go back.
Others want the faster GTG even though most of the delay is in the mouse/keyboard to screen.
I would go IPS over a 5ms TFT larger screen, but vs the 2ms, it is according to your viewing and seating and motions.
