For â¬950? Is it worth the money to buy a really good gaming computer?
Answer
Well, what are you planning on playing? If expecting to be playing Crysis 2 on Ultra, or GTA IV with all the settings maxed, then you're gonna have to pay that sort of money. Basically these days, if you get an average gaming PC, first of all you aren't going to be able to max out any of the top games (Except for Cod, that takes next to nothing to run), and secondly, it'll get out of date and newly released games will run quite slowly within a year or two of having bought it.
Think of buying a powerful PC as future proofing it, when you buy a computer it costs a lot of money, but because it is very powerful for the time, it will last you for 8-10 years or so of reliable gaming.
Also, if you don't really care about playing games on top graphics, being able to get mods, or making your own maps etc, then you're better off with a Xbox 360 or a PS3. Simply because they're a lot cheaper, and your games are always going to run smoothly even 5 years down the track.
