how do I build a good gaming computer?

Matt

I want to build a good gaming computer but I've never done anything like this. What all would I need? I want to be able to play games such as Medal of Honor and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. I would be very grateful if you could tell me everything I would need. Thanks.

Answer
Well, it all depends on your budget, alright? But lets start here with a GOOD gaming system:

Intel i7 920
Asus P6T motherboard
Arctic Ice 5 Thermal Paste (one tube)
CPU Fan/Heatsink Cooler - See this article:

http://www.overclock.net/hardware-news/447114-lr-6-way-intel-i7-cooler.html

nVidia GTX 285 or nVidia GTX 295 (260 or 275 on the cheap) video card

Western Digital 7200 RPM 1 Teribyte Hard Disk (avoid Segate 1.5T)

Pioneer or Samsung 22X DVD Writer

Antec 1200 Case

Antec or Corsair 850 Watt SLI and Crossfire certified power supply

Corsair, Patriot or OCZ Low CAS Latency Timed DDR3 memory, 6 Gigs

1 Full Version copy of Vista Ultimate (anyone who buys between June 2009 and January 2010 gets a FREE Win 7 UPGRADE - Check it out on Microsoft).

This will get you a killer game player - I figure, the cost around $1200.
