what would you suggest?

will gaming LAPTOPS be ok to play like, sims 3 and stuff?

will a desktop gaming computer work any better?

thanks (:!
Also what brands of gaming laptops are best c:?

Answer
Gaming laptops are always going to be a bit slower and a bit more expensive than gaming desktops. This is because laptops must use much less power than a desktop to avoid overheating, and because they require more research and engineering to assemble and design, respectively.

On that note, the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to gaming on a laptop, if you're really dead set on being able to carry your gaming around, is one with an AMD A8 processor. It combines a speedy quad-core processor and very capable graphics chip in one part. This is more cost effective than buying an Intel laptop with an upgraded graphics chip while achieving the same gaming performance.

The A8 could easily run Sims 3. I linked two examples of A8 laptops in my source. To see exact game speeds, scroll down and look on the left: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6620G.54675.0.html

With a gaming desktop, any PC with a Radeon 5700 or 6600 or higher; or, an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 or GTX 550 or higher; will be able to run games fluently. The price of a system like this should be around the $600 mark while performing better than most $1,000 laptops.

If you're curious about laptop reliability, see this article: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/17/laptop-reliability-survey-asus-and-toshiba-win-hp-fails/

What is the best gaming desktop computer or laptop that is cheap, say around $500-$1000?

Q. My acer computer just recently broke and im looking for something i can preferably play world of warcraft on, thats pretty much all i do except play random flash games and stuff.

Answer
Manufactured desktop gaming computers are not usually going to be within that range. That's when people pretty much build computers themselves. You save a load of money at that point. Laptops for gaming under 1k... I would look at the Dell XPS computers. They seem to be pretty dependable, and have a good set of specifications.

Building your own computer, for about $700 you can get a computer that would normally cost $1,200 in the stores. Just a make-model would add $200 to a computer as opposed to what they actually would cost.

But for WOW and Flash games, I would stick to mid-range computers. Gaming is mainly looking for the high-end games. If you want the possibility for that, look at the XPS, otherwise stick to the more affordable ones.
