asus gaming monitor mlg image
Commander
And can you give me examples of monitors that will have that resoloution capability?
I have a GTX 460 1GB, but am looking to upgrade to either a better Geforce or a HD Radeon, I have a budget of around £400 for both things combined
Answer
the ASUS VH236H or VH238H are very good choices & MLG Certified monitors (Also used in SF tournys) the 238H is just the LED based variant of the 236, Both are very good at color reproductions & are now not very espensive, you should be able to snag one for 170 at least.
If you do not care about forcing SSAO on NVIDIA cards (special more "realistic" shading methods only nvidia cards can force into games, ATI can do it aswell but the Vision panel doesnt have an option to force it) ATI would be the better choice as they are superior when it comes to anisotropics & refining models to nuke the jagged edges... You should be able to pickup a 6970 or 6950 with the remaining amount, or if you have enough an EVGA 460 GTX 2WIN Edition which performs nearly on par with a GTX 580. (It is Two 460 GTX on ONE card, SLId on one PCB with a very high Bandwidth makes it awesome)

What monitor is the best monitor for Competitive Gaming?
LaxGuy711
I am trying to get into competitive gaming, and am actuAlly really good. I was just wondering what tv or monitor is best to enhance gameplay. I was looking at the BenQ monitors cause i know they use those ones in championships and stuff, but are really expensive. I am into more of the FPS games such as the Call of Duty series mainly. The BenQ that I was looking at was around $419 I believe. Basically I'm just asking for your thought and opinion on this. Is it worth it ? Thanks
Answer
The Asus VS239H is a great monitor, as is the VH236H (which I have for gaming). Also, the BenQ monitor MLG uses isn't $400: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Official-Monitor-RL2455HM-24-Inch/dp/B007HSKSMI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1370787766&sr=1-1&keywords=benq+mlg
