Some wierd

Alrighty just looking for a good gaming desktop setup under 600$ to play WoW on without using all my money I got saved up. Best answer wins.

Answer
I see this question a lot. You can't buy a good gaming computer for that kind of money.
If you build it yourself you will save money. You don't say if you need a monitor and keyboard or whatever. Computer gaming is one of the most expensive hobbies I have ever had. I too would like a good gaming computer for $600.
I know this answer will not win best answer award, The truth is rarely popular.

How to be a GM without ever playing a tabletop game before?

Zachary

Hello! I would like to play Star Wars Saga Edition, the table top roleplaying game based on the Star Wars universe. I have all of the rule books that I need, and can either formulate a story of my own or use one of the examples in the books. Is there anywhere I can go to review the rules of combat or other little helpful tips I could use before starting?

The reason that I'm so inexperienced is because I am pioneering tabletop gaming among my group of friends. No one we know plays D&D, or any other game of the sort. I'm vigorously studying the core rule books as well as other books that I have acquired.

Answer
Well, as far as rules of Combat, I suppose you can always review the source, which is Wizard's of the Coast/Hasbro. Though, the core book has everything you need. Just understand the basics and you'll do fine. Save the fancier stunts for later as the players become more familiar with the rules. You can always recruit one of the players to review the rules and assist the others during combat.

Saga Edition Star Wars is one of the less bulky d20 combat systems in the d20 sphere to be honest. It's meant to emulate the fast paced moving combat we see in the Star Wars films.

As far as tips, I'm a big fan of a visual representation for combat (Especially if you have inexperienced players). Having a battlemat, or even using a combat simulation map would help everyone keep track of combat. I'd recommend Maptools. 1. it's free, 2. you can run two instances of the program and output the second instance to an extra monitor (Laptop and Monitor is best for this). Otherwise, the battle mat and either miniatures or tokens are a nice easy method. You can find easy to print tokens if you look hard enough. (Maptools has an extra pack for starwars tokens)

I wish you the best of luck. Being a Game Master is a big responsibility. Approach it with a good attitude and work toward having fun, and your friends/players will enjoy it.
