gaming monitor 5ms vs 2ms image

I have been considering buying a hdmi compatible full hd monitor to play my x-box 360 on via hdmi cable and have found a good deal on this monitor. How ever i dont know much about these monitors so your help would be much appreciated.

The brightness and contrast are not the best, but for a monitor of that price, its a pretty good deal. The response rate is rated at 5ms, again not the best, but decent as you are considering using this on an xbox. Its on the lower end, but it seems like a decent product for the budget minded consumer.
The main things to look for in an LCD monitor are:
Response Rate: This is described in ms, or Milliseconds. Lower is better, less blur with motion. 2ms is best.
Contrast Ratio: This is a ratio that describes the darkness of the black vs the brightness of the white. Higher is better. 10,000:1 is good, anything above is even better.
Brightness: This is the power of the back light, higher is better. 300 is average.

what monitor should i get Acer X243Wbd Black 24" W.S LCD Monitor or ASUS VW246H Black 24" hdmi W.S monitor?

they both are on newegg for about 300 dollars, which of the two will be better for gaming?

I vote for the Acer. It has the standard resolution that most games support (1920x1200) vs. the Asus that uses the new 1920x1080 which is designed for multimedia purposes (1080p video).
The Asus does have a better response time (2ms vs. 5ms) and a higher contrast ratio (20,000:1 vs. 3,000:1), but I think that the resolution may be a dealbreaker because I am not sure how well supported the 1920x1080 resolution is in games.
I have a 26" Acer at work and it is a very good monitor.
