best gaming computer under 1200 image

I am building a computer in the summer, and I wanted to know what kind of configuration was good. I want an i7 and the new GTX 680. I am not sure which i7 i should get, and what the other parts should be. I dont care about the case design, and I am planning to overclock. I want it to be preferably under $1200, but its ok if it exceeds my price limit a little bit.

There's too much parts out there to choose the best for you. Instead of listing what you should buy, i'll tell you what to look for.
The only thing i'll tell you to buy: Go for an i5 2500k. An i7 2600k does perform a bit better, but also costs quite some more. The i5 2500k is more than fast enough for gaming.
Since you're planning to overclock, you'll need a P67 or Z68 motherboard. Any motherboard with that chipset will do, but perhaps you want some special features on your motherboard.
Something to consider for overclocking: Liquid cooling. There are several easy to install liquid cooling solutions for under 100 dollars. They greatly increase your overclocking potentiol, so definitely worth checking it out. An example of a great liquid cooling set is the corsair H100, but cheaper ones will suffice too.
Just a little bit about RAM: 4GB of RAM is fine for gaming, but since it's so cheap these days a lot of people get 8GB of RAM. Don't bother getting more than that, it's just a waste. Don't bother paying too much for the RAM too, DDR3-1333 really is fine. If you know what you're doing you could get DDR3-1600, don't bother with more than that.
It's recommended to get exactly two sticks of RAM to make full use of dual channel memory. It'll perform a bit better than one or four sticks, not that much but there's a difference.
Last tip: When buying a PSU, don't go over 750W. 650W probably is enough already.

What is the average memory space on a computer?

I'm guessing 16-32 GBs. Am I right? I need a gaming computer, so I will need reasonable memory space to have like 20+ games. A desktop that runs games smoothly, has a nice graphics drive, and has a nice amount of memory for games as I said before. Can I get anything like that for under 1000$? What kind of desktop do you recommend?

This guy is going to be a bit confused by these conflicting answers he's getting, what he is MOST likely referring to is the hard drive space, "memory" is a common misconception for hard drive capacity, memory by most peoples usage is referring to RAM (Random Access Memory) which could be briefly described as the amount of space on a work bench in a garage, the more space on the table, the more things that can be simultaneously be done without drop in efficiency, the more RAM, the faster you'll boot and will be able to run multiple operations with more ease. 8GB of RAM is sufficient if that's what your asking, if your referring to the hard drive, then 1 TB (1000 GB) of space should be sufficient for what you need. Judging by the wording of your question I doubt you'd feel comfortable building your own rig, but if you do then you can buy a computer capable of running BF3 @ 1080p on ultra @ 40-50 fps average for around 1000-1200$, however if you BUY a gaming computer then your probably looking around twice that price. If you decide to build it then I recommend buying a DIY kit from newegg. Sorry for the length, hope I helped!
