My computer's model is ASPIRE ONE D270 and it was recently bought last year around April 2012
if it can run The Sims 3 base game can it also run with at least 1 expansion pack? or what's the most expansion packs it can run with?

Minimum requirements to play the Sims 3 on a Windows Vista/7 computer are:
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

So as you can see, your computers processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the game, and as such are unlikely to have an enjoyable experience if it did run. Common problems you would expect to encounter when running a game on a machine with less than the minimum requirements is the game crashing while playing, or in other cases it not even being able to start.

UPDATE: If you're still unsure, you can run compatibility check yourself. This website will check your computers specification and compare it to the minimum requirements of the game:

If you want to try it out anyway, be sure to buy a physical of the game and not a digital download. This way at least you can resell it if it doesn't work.

Can someone recommend computer parts I could buy for GAMING? I have around $1,000 plus or minus a few hundred to spend on the rig. What are the best components that you could recommend that can handle most games on ultra settings? Links would be nice! Thanks :O

A good, full HD 1080p (1920x1080), LED backlit 27inch monitor will cost you around $260 to over $300.
Any cheap USB mouse and keyboard for about $30 to $50, or spend more for expensive gaming style ones.
